2025 Already?

From the thread in the sticky, it now says 2025 as the model year. And looking over at the iX forum, they already have the ordering guide for the 2025 model. It appeared that it would be available for delivery already by May/June, start of production in March. Seems to be an awfully short model year if that's the case.

Reading through the ordering guide of the 25 iX, I saw some interesting things with the feature list. The iX already had the full B&W Diamond system available. But, now it has a few features that were missing from the iX and the i5. Soft close doors, multifunction seat with massage. The M models also get the same 3 spoke wheel instead of the stupid looking two spoke wheel.

Anyone see any new 25 ordering guides for the G60 out yet?

The iX always had soft close doors available (luxury package). Massage seats were also always available. The only new iX features for 2025 are the dark interior trim and the M steering wheel.

X5 is also hitting MY25 on 03/24.

G60 MY25 EOP is 06/24. Too early for ordering guide I think.

I later noticed the soft close doors available in the configurator. At least when I was looking to order, between the iX and i5 I didn't remember massaging seats being available. Even with the higher MSRP, there was so much money in the trunk on the iX it would have been just a little more in a lease.

Some of the deciding factors for me was the, at the time, less advanced self driving systems, the more sporty demeanor of the i5, and while minor, the 2 spoke wheel.

Massage seats have always been available on the iX, although you might have to dig into the configurator to see them (standard on M60, currently in premium package under multi functional seats on the base model). As far as I know, the i5 and 2024 iX have the same driver assistance/“self driving” features except for the eye activated lane change on the i5 which is being added to the 2025 iX.

I thought that the active lane change up to 85 MPH was the other feature. It was my understanding that the hardware was there, but it was to be delivered via an OTA. And I've heard conflicting reports of getting that delivered in a timely manner. BMW has seemed to make quite a bit of confusion between iDrive 8, 8.5, and 9.

2024 iX models have this feature if they have the driving assistance professional package. It’s assisted driving plus and all the accompanying features including lane change up to 85mph. I just used it today. FYI iDrive 9 is a lesser software being used on entry level vehicles.

No, that screenshot is saying 6/24 is End-of-Production for MY24, which means MY25 starts the month thereafter, 7/24. I used to work there and used to make that spreadsheet, seriously. I know what it means.

Mate, no need to brag about your Excel skill..LOL. If you have connections, get us the MY25 ordering and pricing guide ASAP.

I have been in MC for more than 20+ years and I wrote code for Excel longg time ago.

There is typo in my post, First column SOP, 2nd Column EOP, last column months run; for that specific MY (245A, B, D etc).

Sorry but I think you completely misinterpreted my comment. I was saying that I used to make that spreadsheet while I worked at BMW of North America only to imply that I know what each column means, that’s all. Not because I was trying to brag about something. Sorry for the confusion, was just trying to help you and others better understand the data you presented.
And the ordering and pricing guides aren’t finished yet. They have draft versions in the system but it’s almost a guarantee that something changes at the last minute every time and so it’s never good to reference the drafts because it’ll just be wrong info.

No worries, we are on the same team

Just talked to my GM yesterday. Asked him to send me MY25 guides as soon as hits the order bank. Will share here when I get it.

So any hints at what new features might be available for 2025? IAS on 540i, new leather or paint colors?

I'm wondering if they'll bring back true, multi-contour seats (with massage) like I have in my G30. I would definitely miss the adjustability (the massage, not so much, except on long trips). Soft close doors are also a surprising omission for this particular car. A sunroof that doesn't feel like it came from a 320i would also be welcome, but I guess they are pushing the sky lounge.

BMW obviously wants more differentiation between the 7 and the 5. Pushing 7 up a bit in terms of quality of interior, etc. While the 5 has been pushed downwards, and some options are no longer available on the 5. But why wasn't the price reduced?! That may change a bit over time, especially with the LCI in a few years. We shall see. I am anxiously awaiting the 2025 550e order guide to see if the IAS and Adaptive Suspension Pro (usually part of the DHP) will be available. If not, I'll just pass on the G60 for a while and buy my M550 at the end of the lease.

Yeah, you're exactly right. I think it wouldn't have surprised me had the price stayed relatively flat, but the idea of an optioned out i5 getting close to $100K and still having gone down in interior quality is shocking. I guess I have to keep in mind that the ICE versions didn't exactly balloon in price. I am anxiously awaiting that 550e order guide as well.

I test drove this week an i5 m60, I like the exterior and the interior look, but when we look a bit closer, it gets quite disapointing. A lot of plastics, for the price I would expect a better quality.

I've a X4 G02 LCI, sure it's less techy, but look so more qually with sensatec on top doors pannels, dash, center console, metal look doors buttons, and so on...

I hope that the new iX3 on the new platform to have a better built interior, i would like to go on EV (in europe we've a lot of charging stations everywhere, so that's not a problem anymore), or the MY25 i5 could get better interior quality? Let's sit and wait..

What's interesting to me, is that by focusing on differentiating the 5 series from the 7 series, as far as options go, I wonder if they've forgotten to look left and right at the competition. While I don't think I'd consider an E Class, you can outfit it with significantly more options and equipment (Including 4WS on ICE vehicles). Of course, that elevates the price, too.

Too little is known about the Audi A6 (or is that A7 now?) for 2025/2026 to speculate what options it will have, but striking a balance between their two rivals always seems to be their MOA.
