I keep seeing $85-90k MSRP i5s getting less than 1k a month

But several people I talked to I'm consistently getting quoted the following:

Brooklyn NYC
$75k MSRP 540xi
10y/36m
No loyalty, no MSDs. No down, no military

With taxes, inception fees and first month all upfront(approx $6500) , I'm getting $980 a month .

With nothing out of pocket (except 1st month dmv) I'm getting $1190 a month.

How to negotiate?

you might be talking apples and oranges. The $85-90K cars are i5 M60s. There's the $7500 BMW was giving, 53% residual and I don't recall the money factor but it was equivalent to under 5% interest. That and the fact that i5 inventories were climbing on lots created more flexibility there.

I have no idea what it's like for 540xi

That's true and I did take it into consideration

But still, $90k minus $7500 and minhs even another $5000 for example, that still brings the i5 MSRPs ive been seeing, higher than mine.

I'm leasing for the first time so just wanted to make sure if there's any advice or word of experience I can get

You really can’t compare leasing monthly payments on two totally different models. BMW could be offering better money factors and higher residuals on the i5 vs the ICE. This will result in lower monthly payments.

Have you heard of Leasehackr?
There are plenty of brokers there who work on the east coast.

Use a lease broker over on leasehackr. And buy out of state since NY doesn't allow MSDs. With MSDs, 7% NY tax (???) and taxes rolled in, $1,025 should work for 75k MSRP.

Also, your post title is "broker not going down on the price." Do you mean dealer?

I've been talking to Ashleigh from Autocampanion. The quote they been giving me is similar. $973 a month With initial payment of $5,000 (first month + NY taxes + fees).

I guess this is the best it's gonna go if even Autocampanion is giving me similar numbers

Yeah that's true. Just crazy how a $15,000 higher MSRP is still bringing lower monthly for the i5 vs the ICE

Thanks!

Most brokers that are on leasehackr will give you the calculator link. Curious to see what the inputs are on that, as it will clearly show you how good the deal is or not.

I pulled the numbers from Next Level Auto Brokers, and he's offering 8-10% off of MSRP for the 540.

Is the dealer in NY? MSDs would help out here with a dealer in another state.

Maybe because it’s all battery and if range is a concern then the 540 beats it all the time.

Demand. They have to incentivize those otherwise they won't move. Leases on i7 are even more attractive MSRP vs monthly.

I've seen some great deals on some NJ based M60 and i5's especially since there's no sales tax for EVs at the moment. ICE's get regular tax which is 6.625 which for a $75 MSRP car with the current deals (+discount) the taxes amount to around 2.4k (or +$71 a month if you roll it in)

My calcs were the following obviously with the exact same options for the cars

i5 e40 2 MSD @ 1.9k total = 862 monthly
(80k msrp - 9% discount )- 7.5 rebate - 1.5 loyalty - gov / dealer fees

540ix 2 MSD @2k total = 999 monthly
(75k msrp - 9% discount) - 1k rebate - 1.5 loyalty - tax - gov /dealer fees

Basically you get -11.5k vs -2.5k on the i5 because of the bigger lease cash and also no sales tax

I still ordered the 540 because I'll just use ICE until they tell me not to. None of this early adopter shenanigans
