Software reset
Can someone remind me whether the engine needs to be on or off in the standby mode to do a reset?
IIRC you have to hold down the volume roller for about 70 seconds until the screen resets 3x. Just don't remember what state the car has to be in to do it. |

Doc, I remember the Genius saying it has to be Engine Off in Standby to do the reset. Scrapula said it changed from 70 seconds to just hold the roller down till the system makes noises 3 times.

Is there a difference between a reset and reboot? I just hold mine down till the screen in the middle goes blank.

Make sure the screen goes on/off TWICE while you're holding the button. They tell you car needs to be stationary, I have done it while driving, still works. No, the main gauges will not go blank on you. Why did I do it while driving? Cause it's a royal puta to take an exit off the highway just to "fix" this glitchy system. |
