Any information on when we'll get that update that allows for ASS deactivation?

I believe I read in another thread that it's coming to ICE cars but I don't recall any time lines.

Any updates or new info on this?

The dealer said they will update it for me if I drop the car off. They are also going to look into coding ACC Stop & Go, but I hope it comes to the connected drive store with this update as the car already has the required hardware.

For my market, the option code for preparation for ACC Stop & Go to be purchased through connected drive store is 9QV.

Do you know if it’s available with the latest update or will it need to be manually coded?

I was told that the preparation has to be done at the factory.

An earlier batch of i5s did not have this and so ACC Stop & Go could not be purchased on the connected store for that batch.

Guys - this thread is about ASS…..not ACC

(That’s ICE Auto stop/start before you report this to the mods)

Mine is at the dealer today getting updated. Not sure if they will be able to do it but other users here said the update was available via dealers before OTA

I'm hoping the dealer here does an update pre-delivery. I would assume they would just to make sure they are delivering a vehicle that is as up-to-date as possible.

I would ask them to do it during PDI. Mine told me they will charge me $220 next time to do an update because it takes some time.

Dealer told me nothing they can do. I have an i5 loaner with the option and it has lights on the steering wheel. Not sure if mine has it or not, but that could be a factor.

The entire issue of ASS is only relevant to ICE vehicles. i5 vehicles don't have this at all.

Dealer updated to latest firmware. ASS disable is now in driving settings and a shortcut as well. Also a lot of other enhancements, carplay now shows a realtime map instead of an overview in the gauge cluster, HUD is a little different, etc.

Was talking about adding ACC Stop & Go to cars that didn't have it equipped at factory. Was hoping this update brought that option because the vehicle can sense cars ahead and it's an option in the connected drive store in other markets.

Perhaps that will be included but this thread was only about when ICE cars will be able to disable ASS.

It's definitely in this latest update on both the shortcut menu and driving settings.

Judging by the latest news and financial storm BMW finds itself in, I think disabling ASS is likely low on the priority list. As their main focus, is going to be saving their financial ass over fixing their electronic one.

I think when I finally do get to pick up my car, the first thing I am going to do after logging in my profile is to see if I can disable ASS.
