Best Reward Credit or Charge Card?

Have a huge project this year coming up will be spending around 50k on materials for it. Sick of using my account at stores and getting nothing back for it. Anyone have any recommendations for a card to get some cash back or reward points?

Either bank of American cash rewards is always good... Idk if you fly alot but I love to use my chase united card for miles.... Lastly can't go wrong with Amex as you can use those points for just about anything (I have Amex platinum)

Let me know which direction you decide on going.

Btw-I'm a contractor idk if your materials pertain to house projects but any questions let me know.

i prefer an airline miles card... either united or American.

The cash back cards, lets say and average of 2%, that's 1k from the 50k in charges.

if you travel, that's almost an upgrade from coach to business international flight which will cost more than 1k.

Painting contractors, lots of paint lol. Really don't fly that much but would be nice to get some free flights, have family to visit across the country.

I heard lot of good things about chase rewards freedom card but personally don't have one. I know lot of my friends recomended one but I didn't want to open up another CC.. I am currently using amex to collect mileage points.

I have the Chase Sapphire Preferred and love it. I'm good for at least one free flight a year so I call that a win.

I've got this card as well and I agree. The point system is conveniently flexible whether you want to get cash back, purchase travel through Chase Rewards, or just transfer the points directly into a flight miles program.

I would have to say AMEX preferred blue cash is my favorite.

$75 annual fee
6% cash back on groceries
3% cash back on gas and department stores
1% cash back on everything else

Personally when I do construction projects (not being a professional) I go to the grocery store, load up on lowes or Home Depot gift cards at 6% cash back and then use those for supplies.

I also buy gas station gift cards at the grocery store.

Amazon is tagged as a department store so 3% cash back there.

I can second these opinions. I have this and really like the flexibility with the point system.

Thats pretty genius buying gift cards from the grocery store lol. Unfortunately I can't do that for where I have to get supplies from lol unless i buy amex gift cards lol.

I have the Freedom card and love the fact that you can get 5% cashback every quarter on a good category. For example, for this quarter, you get 5% cash back on fuel. The one or twice a year, they do 5% off Amazon, which I shop there a lot.

Agree....I have the preferred card as we'll and can't beat unlimited points and double points on all dining and travel. The best way to play this is to get the Chase Freedom as we'll and use that to get the 5% bonus categories and transfer those points to your chase preferred card. Then you can save another 20% going through Chase travel.

The chase sapphire preferred also has tons of other benefits like no foreign transaction fees, travel insurance, price match, and a dedicated customer service. They have 50,000 bonus points just for signing up....that's worth $500 right there.

I have a Chase Ink card and a Citi AA Advantage Amex. Pretty much all my points come from my business and I have had no luck in convincing my suppliers to classify themselves as a super market.
