Windshield Wiper Fluid
I feel a little silly asking this question, but hoping to compare notes with you guys. I just tried cleaning my windshield for the first time in the new 540i. The pump seems to be working fine as it is pumping out quite a lot of washer fluid, but it’s dumping almost all of it on the retracted wiper blades with a little, almost mist-like spray a couple inches up the windshield. It’s not spraying fluid up on the entire windshield as I’m used to in earlier generations of 540s I’ve owned. It’s getting the job done as the wiper blades are carrying the fluid up the windshield, but I’m wondering if that’s by design or if I need to investigate whether the spray nozzles are clogged or misaligned.

I had the exact same question. I'm pretty sure it's a design decision and, as you said, it works quite well.

Same here - I noticed this for the first time yesterday, but it seems to work well.

Yes - I think it’s a superior design especially when you’re traveling at highway speeds.
