Should the infotainment screen be dimmer than the instrument cluster screen?

I feel like the 7 series has both of the screens the same brightness.....whereas in my i5 loaner at night, the instrument cluster is definitely brighter than the infotainment screen (the 7 series had both screens as being very bright).

Wasn't sure if this was something they just did for the 5 series or whether I have a setting that isn't correct (all the ambient lighting is up all the way in my menus).

There is a setting in idrive to dim the brightness at night, but I'm not sure if it applies to both the instrument cluster and the center screen, or just the center screen. Probably to both. I think you'd find it in the Displays section.

I don’t have the dimming during night checked on. Everything else is very bright, the ambient lighting and the instrument cluster but the middle screen seems 25% dimmer…

Not something I see with mine, but I dim the ambient lighting at night, I’ve never noticed a discrepancy between the two screens brightness though.

Looking through the manual. There is no separate control for dimming the Instrument Cluster and the Control Display. There may be a setting that I am missing. I would call the Dealer and ask for the service Dept and ask a technician. Or a Genius. But it definitely should be dimmable. They are probably both supposed to be at the same brightness level.
