Individual Options?

Sometimes there are additional options such as full leather dash or different types of leather seats with individual orders.

Does anyone know if there are any for the i5 besides individual color?

Side question. Anyway to get rear climate control for US?

Did you try the “build your own” configuration on the bmwusa.com website? That’s a good place to start.

https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-own.html

There are a lot of options, but this would be a good way to narrow down things a bit.

Individual options are typically not available on the US configurator

It's best to ask your dealer whether the many beautiful colors are also available in the US.
https://individual.bmw-m.com/de-DE/G60-11FJ-337

Individual leather will also be available for the G60 in the next few months.

Yes, looks like a nice list of color options which is great to see.

I’m curious to see what they offer for interior trim including possibility of a full leather option to make the dash/door panels look better. Would also really like a single color leather option instead of the two-tone.

Alcantara headlining is also missing from the g60, thought they might have started offering that soon

Sounds like we’re just asking for them to bring back all the features from the G30 that they value engineered out of the G60

After many custom ordered BMW’s without alcantara headliners, please tell me what the big deal is about this. Not saying you’re wrong, I’ve just never had it and never felt like I was missing something. But I’ve also never had the leather dash either. Just wasn’t important to me, I guess.

Personal thing I guess. The material looks and feels “quality”.
Once you’ve seen it and felt it, the standard material just feels “cheap” in comparison.

Luckily bmw make the interiors at least on their msport black rather than white which arguably hides it .

Alcantara headlining would also include along with the headlining, the visors , a,b,c pillars and the parcel shelf at the back

This is where your explanation really made sense to me. I haven’t had anything but full M or M Sport since the 90’s so I already had the black headliner. Less of a difference, but I guess still a difference. I did have the OEM Alcantara steering wheel in my E46 330 ZHP that wore very poorly and I had switched to the M3 leather wheel under warranty. That probably is part of the reason I’ve never specced it for a headliner.

I wonder if bmw actually choose to offer this at some point in the future or if it’s a conscious decision not to.
On the g30, it was initially offered 6 months after production had started . So wasn’t there from day 1 .

Thanks for the input. Reached out to my Client Advisor and he said in the US it's $6500 for Individual color and that it needs to be submitted and approved by BMW NA. Mostly approved, but some colors have been denied.

He didn't have any info on any other Individual options.

Alcantara is just a brand name of a polyester blend. Mazda has another brand of ‘alcantara’ on their signature series vehicles, along with Nappa leather. I’m not sure when it started being labeled a luxury material. It’s just fake suede that lasts longer. If Mazda puts it in, then it’s not really a cost factor for why it was eliminated. It’s probably just trending out of style as it doesn’t go with the modern tech vibe.

iX still has Alcantara headliner. Feels like a very soft suede.

My husband’s F-150 has it as well. Just a different brand. Alcantara is a trademarked name for a fabric. It’s not expensive. You can pick it up on Amazon. I just think it’s not a hot trend anymore, is all.

I had Alcantara on my steering wheel for a sim-rig I built many years ago. I agree with others that it isn't really anything special other than it feels nice (at least better than plastic) and it's probably not as "in" as it used to be. Granted, if you like the look or feel of Alcantara it would still be nice to be able to put it in your car somehow.

As in the other series, everything will be available later.
I'm waiting for covers for the front and rear cup holders. A new matt cover for the center console wouldn't be bad either.

And of course the entire interior in Alcantara.

Your client advisor is wrong. Individual paint on the 5 series is $5000. You can use the individualizer to see what's possible. Then submit for approval.

https://individual.bmw-m.com/en-US/G60-41FK-P6E

You can also add 4-Zone Climate Control as an option through BMW individual (option 4NB) for $650.

I actually miss the matte open pore wood now, that my iX had on the center console. WHY would BMW ever put this shiny, smeary center console in the 5 Series?

Only the white/blue propeller in MUC knows that.
Mine in the X3 is currently shiny too. Always have a microfiber cloth with you.

Thanks! 4-zone climate control is available in the US? I'll reach out to my CA. This was something I really wanted that I'm willing to wait and pay for that I was really bummed didn't come equipped on the car.
