No more straight 6 diesel? They got rid of such a legendary engine. Wow. Good luck…

I was already keeping my E39 M5 forever.

This still looks better than the E60

I think they said there will be a 6 cylinder diesel next year

The autogefel video said the 6 cylinder petrol would not be coming to the EU , is that correct?

The 40 is better looking than the 60 imo. Would still bang tho. Wish San Remo Green was available.

Well some more bad news…couple of things I noticed:

1) Comfort seats no longer have that independently adjustable upper backrest
2) no more foldable headrests on the comfort seats
3) trim does not extend to the doors
4) rear seat cup holder are now just holes as opposed to mechanically folding ones and has no storage
5) leather only available as part of individual spec
6) no more seat back pockets

Saw a G87 M2 in person again this past weekend at the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience in Charlotte NC.

Great event. The G87? Ugly as ever.

Without badging, there’s NO way I would think this is a BMW.

Honestly those tail lights are too conservative and make the car look more Japanese/Korean design inspired.

Bet they tried a few polarizing design options that got voted out.

Front and rear lamps seem to have different design language. Not too bad, just not that great and eye catching for a BMW

Lol I was thinking to myself how that was kind of a Camry at quick glance. They’re good looking in their own right but I wouldn’t want my 5er to look like a pedestrian Camry.

Strong, strong mid 2000's Camry/Accord vibes. Sigh.

Even though many say looks not good, I think it is good 👍 with the M-Sport or higher trims, it will be aggressive enough … The M5 will be very desirable, more than the current M3/4 … my 2 cents

I am at a loss as to how the designers can get these designs so wrong. This car looks like a cheap Kia or Hyundai. Certainly not a 5 series!! A Genesis looks more elegant than this. The F10/G30 LCI IMO are the last great looking 5 series.

The outgoing model (lci) is very well designed. Superiors on the outside. I think that the developers had to work really hard to create sth at the same level.

I like the new model, don't get me wrong, but the bar to surpass the G30 lci is too high.

Not exactly the same story for the inside though.

Something is off, probably many things. Def losing some of the traditional and much loved BMW cues.

Does this 5-Series look slightly like a hunchback?
