BTW, does anyone know the update frequency for map data?

This weekend, I found that a new section of a highway that's been open since last November isn't in my car's map database. I have no trouble seeing it in Apple or Google maps though.

Can't find much about the map updates other than they're OTA...are they part of the software OTA update discussed in here, or are they on some other cycle?

No specific timing, but map updates are separate from the major OTA updates. I have had a couple map updates but no OTA updates. If you have received a map update, the display will indicate this when you turn the car on.

Maybe if you go into the menu in the car and tell it to search for app updates it will find something. I have not noticed any auto-updates in my car but I have also not been looking.

I'm on 11/2023.47, but I want to get parking assistant professional and can't till I get the upgrade. If it doesn't happen by June 1 I will just go to the dealership.

Do you live near the dealer and will they give you a free loaner? (I’m 2 miles from my dealer.) If so, talk to the service department and see if they will easily get BMW to send them the software update and put it on your car now. I mean, one trip to my dealer I got an 11/2023 update put on in 24 hours that I needed for even PA Pro trial to work. But it took 4 days for BMW to send 3/2024 to the dealer, for my PA Pro purchase option to then work. (I really wanted PA Pro again, as I’m slightly disabled and pulling my car out of a tight spot to get in is an amazing option. So I pressed my dealer to give me 3/2024 before OTA option came available to me.)

Feell y'all's pain the only reason why the dealer was able to upgrade my software a few months ago is because I went in for the service bulletin so they do any service bulletin on your car it's going to update all the firmware as well so see if your car needs the service bulletin they don't just do the firmware updates they might they're going to charge you I think that's what my dealer said

I'm currently on 3/2024.25 that gave me the option to download parking assistant pro I also got the welcome light software as well but as of now there's a newer version let's see what the brings

I have my M60 in for service regarding fixing the echoing sound from AC condenser. I still have the "Activating Services" message from purchasing the Welcome Animation Lights. I was told by BMW USA that next software update should resolve this. I asked my dealer to install the update. They pushed back and said NO....unless I paid $455 for programming. I was a bit surprised and I pushed back stating this was know issue and was told a software update would resolve. They responded by telling they would reach out to regional BMW support to see if they will approve the new software. Still waiting for answer.

welp, was told today that officially BMWUSA is NOT allowing dealers to install software update due to Home Charging gets disabled after update.

That is exactly what my service advisor told me. no other details. IMO they just didn't want to do a forced update over the OTA.
