Not lastly, the new technology proved to me that is actually a nightmare. Like the mild hybrid technology which adds weight, is stupid and costly. I wish I stay with my previous ones. The amount of care that is needed, plus all the stupid nannies on board makes them really annoying. |

The term "tease" is more affected by inflation than any monetary item in history of men kind.

Well, I guess that your drive it daily, because if you don’t that car is a pain to keep. The Li battery has its own cooling system, is very expensive, needs charging, which depletes the rear/trunk battery continuously. And, to put more shame on the cake, charging doesn’t work and BMW does not offer an official answer in regards to the problem that many have with this MHT.
Bottom line, you can not have such car as a toy. I am gone for a while, but I already started asking around to sell mine. I really like the carbut I don’t want something that every month needs to be charged via trunk and requires that kind of mainetnance. Sorry, for the money I want something good, reliable and trustworthy. So no, new technology doesn’t necessary mean better. |

from the sticky https://g60.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...99&postcount=1 for G60:
"Notable features: interior with more glass and metal in the trim, Iconic Glow grows from a simple grille accent into a complete "package", ..." so I'm guessing/hoping it will be part of optional lighting package that I can opt out of or code out. Already told my CA I'm waiting for the G60 540i to replace my G30 540i but may consider the M560e. Was considering the M5 touring but really disliked the XM I drove at M Town Tour which uses the same drivetrain.

Yeh cars are getting far too gimmicky now
I think they pretty much got close to perfection for the f10 and more so the g30 Ergonomics better but the g60 is looking to have too much that on the surface seems to please people when you dig into how it really works, it’s not actually better Ie Idrive 8 or later with physical buttons Touch screen is not the ideal control when driving , you have to look away from the road, refocus your eyes potentially navigate around the menus Flat bottom steering wheel C’mon that flat bottom bit serves no purposes and actually makes it worse to feed through your hands The steering wheel , emphasis on wheel is best , proven to work over more than a hundred years Personally I find this stuff quite frankly pathetic and just churn to produce something new that can be sold Not saying that the g60 is a bad car, no doubt it will be great but the above items are in my book, backward step |

I think the level 3 semi autonomous stuff debuts in 2024 as well so my guess is to wait for 12 months to pass as I suspect the full range of engines and options should be available by then
Having bought a f10 and g30 previously I’ve noticed that the full list of options is certainly not available day 1 and it takes a couple do cycles before everything geared up Previously bmw seem to refresh every 6 months So if it were me I’d wait for the second model year at earliest before ordering |

Good luck with that. Lookover the iX forums. The new modules are cloud-based, so coding is impossible short of either hacking BMW, insider leaking files, or reverse-engineering the modules themselves.

Newer ones drive better, and they're more reliable. We're in the absolute golden age of BMW. F-series years were the only era of decline.

I’ve had a lot of new 911’s and Boxsters. But I sought out the 997 as a weekend cruiser for that hydraulic steering, precise manual. I know the G series is sort of the pinnacle of BMW’s m cars at the moment. No one wants to say it- but they were able to take the next step in that overall package. Probably doesn’t compare but the Boxster/ Cayman cars with the 6 cylinder were also the superior cars from Porsche. Their decision to eliminate the 6 cylinder expect for Spyder and GT4 cost them a sale. I want sporty and not harsh. M2 is that equation perfected. I don’t care if the car is 3800 lbs- its comfortable. |
