This was the point I was making earlier about Tesla dropping their prices. It is bringing major pressure on their competition.

It's always the alpines and the kickers before the pioneers and Kenwood's when you sold car audio in the 2000s
Then there are the Duals which were bottom of the barrel
EVs are somewhere between that and a cheap Kenwood deck

I'm shopping for a X5 xDrive40i right now. My dealer ship has no inventory but plenty of iX xDrive50's and X5 xDrive50e's on lot. You can guess how I reacted to a EV. So the conversation turns to ordering one to my spec and they would trade one of their allocations with another dealer to get me a spot in line. Only issue is this dealer had almost all EV's on allocation and no one wants to trade.

I'm in no hurry as the M4 CS in the garage keeps telling me to keep it and the Tacoma says I have your back this winter. Yes My cars talk to me.

For dealers around 50 percent of their profit comes from service and parts. EVs are a disaster to the standard dealer model. And they have to build the support structure to recharge cars on the lot. I understand why dealers would be poorly aligned on core values to promote EVs. I don’t blame them one bit for not pushing EVs.
