As I look forward to getting my car I'm trying to put together a list of questions to ask so that I don't waste either my time or that of the genius. I'm trying to be sure I cover all the relevant things so I don't have to go back to the dealership or call the genius phone line unnecessarily. So far, this what I have (and this is, of course, specific to an ICE vehicle)....

*How to register phone as a digital key
*How to park automatically while in the car and from outside the car
*How to pre-condition the car
*Remote start
*Activate one year Sirius subscription
*Join phone to car with Android Auto
*Welcome light animation
*How to use connected drive store/features
*Is a dedicated data cellular acct. needed for these features
*How to enable front camera when at a traffic light
*How to use voice control/available requests
*Load music to car thru USB-C port
*Can remote start be used thru the MyBMW app from anywhere

Anything else anyone can think of that I should add to this list?

One thing I found was helpful was being able to use the “dim ambient lighting at night” option as my car was delivered without that being activated and I definitely saw a bunch of reflections in the windshield and drivers window.

My SA sat with me in the car after I activated MyBMW app. He went through every setting and had me enter my preferences. That took care of 90% of my questions. Once you have the app, you just go to the connected online store and order what you want. Download those, then call the genius if you need to. Most everything is self explanatory. BMW has videos for a lot of features, too.

Oh, and hook up Alexa. You have to set up with a single Alexa in your house, though. Then I say, ‘Alexa, BMW precondition my car’. She talks to the Hey BMW’. Easier than the app.

Will your car have the driving assistant/parking assistant app? The "Record New Path" to save a parking path is a pretty cool feature. It's also pretty intuitive but might be nice to have someone show you how to save, manage and access these features.

Also, from these forums, if your car as the Augmented Reality Function, I find that setting the AR view to the center display (as opposed to the instrument display) to be more useful.
