Driver seat moving all the way back

Sometimes when I get into the car as the driver, the driver seat starts moving all the way back pretty fast making a strange noise (as if it is scratching against something) instead of moving forward to the saved position. I then have to use the memory button to get it to the saved position. It happens maybe 1-2 times per month.

Has anyone else observed this issue?

You’re probably referring to the feature called Comfort Exit.

With that, your seat will move backwards to give you more space for entry/exit. Once you buckle up, the seat should return to you saved driving position.

Nope.

Comfort access works as designed about 49 out of 50 times. But every once in a while when I get in the seat first moves a bit forward and then all the way back with a scratchy noise and very fast.

It’s rare so haven’t been bothered too much, and I can’t consistently replicate it. Just wondering if anyone has had the issue.

Sounds like a defective seat and potentially dangerous. You should bring it in to your dealership for diagnosis. Good luck!

I’ve not heard or experienced anything like this with my i5 M60 after 5months ownership. Agree with Silvermember that this should go to the dealer.

I am also having issues with my seat. Whenever i used to open my door before, the seat used to go back as expected for comfort entry, but it does not move when I open the door anymore. Also, when I turn off the car to exit, it goes forward and then slightly back. Something seems to be off because it is operating very unusually. Also, I have tried resetting my seat, turning on/off comfort entry/exit. Taking it to the dealership soon.

I think comfort entry may be activated by buckling/unbuckling the seatbelt rather than the door - certainly that’s true when I get into the car. I’m blanking if the reverse is true on exit.

Yes, that might be the case as well. But it is working weirdly when buckling/unbuckling seatbelt as well.

Yes, comfort access is related to buckling and unbuckling the seatbelt.
