I5 Seat Differences
Hi Everyone,
Quick observation- Test drove i5 m60 and the seats were super plush and comfortable. Sat in an I5 e40 in the showroom and the seats were horribly firm and not comfortable. Both seats were venganza Is there a difference btw m60 and e40 stock seats? Maybe M60 comes with luxury seats? Do the luxury seats change the cushioning on the seat? Thanks |

On the luxury seats from what I understand you have the additional adjustments on IDrive, not the buttons on the sides of the seats. A quick way to tell also is if you look at the passenger side door. The luxury seating package comes with memory buttons for the front passenger side. The standard sport seats do not have them. |

Thanks. What about the sport seats that the cloth / venganza mixed seats force you to get? Those are not adjustable and the they are technically the standard seats then?

Well......they are adjustable. Just not to the same extent. I sat in the M/black Veganza and found them fine. Wife did not like them though.

Interesting - I’m coming up on 11months with my M60 and had an eDrive40 loaner for a couple of days last week. I didn’t notice much discernible difference in comfort - it had the M sport pack and M Sport Pro pack that perhaps upgrades the seats. They were not quite as adjustable as my M60, but comfort wise very similar.

Another way to look at it is that SPORT seats tend to be firmer on purpose. They provide more support so when you are on the twisties you stay in your seat vs flopping around. The luxury seating provide more comfort, and have more adjustments for those differing body shapes. Hence the moveable bolsters etc. My Mercedes has Sport seats. And my wife hates them. She is used to the comfortable seats in her Range Rover. Therefore she compares everything else to that. I wanted the MVeganza/Alcantara seats. I compromised by ordering the Luxury seating package for her sake. She didn't think the added expense was worth it. I told her I was willing to spend the extra cash in order for her to be comfortable. That made it worth it to me. |

There are definitely 2 different types of seats in the M60......one basically has the headrest separate whereas the other looks like the headrest is more
"built in" to the seats. I believe the latter are the sport seats without the luxury seating package. The sport ones aren't as nice and I don't think they have the same level of adjustment (although some may argue the sport seats look better). That may be the difference you are feeling?
