I’m enjoying the 71 degrees and 96% humidity right now. No complaints at all with the fog.

All you need to understand is ESG which controls financing and CAFE which fines the dog crap out of manufacturers is they don't meet the unrealistic Corporate Average Fuel Economy. It simple, it called extortion.

Extortion
noun
1) Illegal use of one's official position or powers to obtain property, funds, or patronage.
2) The act or an instance of extorting something, as by psychological pressure.
3) An excessive or exorbitant charge.

Doom and gloom. Fear. Absolutism. It's all you guys have to back up on. Even when someone comes in with a middle-ground position, you just back up to the extremist views. It's comical, really.

Truth hurts sometimes especially if the outlook is doom and gloom.
How is factual information extremest?
Who is someone and what exactly is their middle-ground position?

My middle ground position is a pure serial hybrid. I've discussed it about 10 times in this thread for the last several years. It's a completely un-extremist position. It melds the best of ICE with the best of EV and gives us vehicles that return very high MPG ratings with available hyper EV performance (if desired), reduce emissions, reduce toxic and conflict mineral mining, and keeps the current automotive supply chains and petrochemical industry and electric generation/distribution industry not needing drastic overhauls.

You have framed me as "anti-EV". Shit, I'm beyond EV. I'm Next-Gen EV.

The only extreme view is ICE should be banned starting 2035. The people with that extreme view write and pass legislation. Such people don't understand science nor business. Worse, they don't understand economics.

Here in the UK, only one in eleven new EV sales is to a private individual. Corporates have had big tax breaks on EV purchases. The tax breaks are now ending....

This
They most defenitely understand economics
It's the environment they do not, and unwilling to remotely understand

In the end, the result is the majority suffers for the benefit of the very few while they sit back in their doomsday bunker.

House Joins Senate in Voting to Strike Down 'Pro-Communist' EV Charger Rule
January 12, 202
Rubio
“The bottom line is this. If we’re going to spend $5 billion of taxpayer money to build electric vehicle charging stations for the United States, it should be made by Americans, in America, using American products,” he said. Bozo veto is planned.
https://www.westernjournal.com/house...-charger-rule/

Remember this? I do.
New Bozo EV charger rules stress Made In America, force Tesla changes
February 15, 2023
EV charger manufacturer Tritium (DCFC.O) announced on Wednesday that it will add more than 250 jobs to its Tennessee manufacturing facility, bringing the total to more than 750 jobs at the site.
The chargers must be assembled at a U.S. factory, and any iron or steel charger enclosures or housing must be made in the United States, starting immediately.
https://www.reuters.com/business/aut...es-2023-02-15/

It only took 11 months to screw American companies and union workers. So much for the "The Buy America provision" that was meant to support American businesses and bolster U.S. manufacturers. Bet those American companies that answered the call to build it in America are just thrilled to death today. Some CCP goon must of bought a bunch of Hunter art to get that veto.

Things that make you go Hmmmm
If fossil fuels come from fossils, why have scientists found them on one of Saturn’s moons
Essentially a frozen, lifeless moon with no dinosaurs, forests or peat bogs, somehow has lakes of methane. Not only does Titan have liquid seas of hydrocarbon fuel — but we’ve known this for years. In fact even in 2005 a NASA scientist quietly admitted that Titan had methane that wasn’t made from fossils. But where was NASA in the 18 years since?
Soon explains that Titan proves that abiotic oil and gas formation is true. In 2009 an experiment showed that when methane is put under great pressure like the kind we find 50-100 miles underground, it can form more complex hydrocarbons. (Kolesnikov). Several papers in the last dozen years find more exotic kinds of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons all over the place, like in Titan’s atmosphere and even forming in deep cold interstellar space. (Zhao, Parker, Freissinet) They also found benzene on Mars.

Fossils From Animals And Plants Are Not Necessary For Crude Oil And Natural Gas, Swedish Researchers Find
Together with two research colleagues, Vladimir Kutcherov has simulated the process involving pressure and heat that occurs naturally in the inner layers of the earth, the process that generates hydrocarbon, the primary component in oil and natural gas.

According to Vladimir Kutcherov, the findings are a clear indication that the oil supply is not about to end, which researchers and experts in the field have long feared.
http://viewzone.com/abioticoilx.html

Yes by all means run right out and buy that planet killing EV to save the planet : "The science" tells we have "peak oil" any day now, but you can make a difference if you only plug your car into the grid. a grid powered by 80% fossil fuel.
