Not liking the M on the side but M stands for Marketing now.

Also, it's not my cup of tea but it's still better than the E60 generation.

I said what I said lol

Yeah you can get a good few deals over 10% off if not more I’d wait a bit to see if bmw may push any special program.. or rebates who knows, we haven’t been told anything as client advisors yet though.

I’ve been hearing people getting 10% to 12% off MSRP. The real question is, does the federal tax incentive apply to hybrids? Some people are saying they are also getting the $7,500 tax credit on an XM lease, but I’m questioning whether that applies to the XM. Thanks.

There’s no reason to think the i5 wasn’t coming out this year. Dude just wanted to sell a car that day.

BMW hasn’t issued it i who is they thought this thing was going to be the new IT car so they didn’t want to waste their credit on it. Of the 10 my dealer sold none have leased them and none would have received a $7,500 credit. But you can do the tax write off thing because of the weight

Exactly! His regional trainer was supposed to come out since 22 and informed us, Since then. Sadly I’d say get a new Client advisor.

No, he just wasn’t aware in January. I’ve known this guy for years and he even helps me when I’m not buying from him. Example: no Houston dealers had any iX M60’s that weren’t already spoken for when I was looking for one, but he helped me anyway. I did not buy my iX M60 from him. In fact, bought mine from a dealership in Corpus Christi since they had one on the boat that wasn’t sold or tied to a customer order. He helped me with the deal and didn’t receive a single dollar in compensation - even though I tried.

He did inform me that the new 5 Series was coming out this year, just didn’t know there would be the electric variant this year. Doesn’t really matter. I wasn’t really pushing the issue anyway. I was ready to go back to an SUV.

Maybe so. I have a dealer relationship like that and it’s nice, so I won’t talk about someone I don’t know. But that’s still questionable. Maybe he just wasn’t paying attention? Either way, I can’t relate because I’d have kept the M550!

In hindsight, I wish I would have; however, the resale value goes to complete shit when the new body style comes out. That’s why I wanted to get rid of it before it ran out of warranty. It was a fantastic vehicle.

I think you’re typically correct. They are holding pretty strong on M550’s. Probably a combo of the V8 and the market but more so the market. I bought a 2020 M550 in March and I knew there wouldn’t be much available this summer. In 2020 production stopped and then was slow, so you don’t have a used market flooded with lease turn ins that you’d usually see.

Not to criticize your decision, just a commentary on resale value of M550’s this year.

Yeah, she was a beauty. I didn’t have one single issue the entire four years I had her…. The week before the trade-in…. I think I only had 18,000 miles on her. #Facepalm

Hmm! The Grill area isn't too bad; however, the area just below the Number Plate looks awful busy and 'compressed'!

Need to see it in the M&P,...Metal and Plastic!

Well I knew I was going to get absolutely obliterated on the trade-in value and my sales advisor certainly didn’t disappoint! Let’s just say I won’t be trading in my iX M60 anytime soon. Despite only having 2,000 miles and every possible option, except for the $300 blue seatbelts, are you ready for the trade-in value? Are you sitting down?

$84,000! So that means in a six-month period of ownership, I’ve would have a net loss of $35,520 (not including sales tax) because of the current deals and lease incentives. OUCH! On the contrary, it’s a good thing that I really love this vehicle, because I won’t be ordering an i5 M60 anytime soon!

Could not agree more. Absence of an aggressive exhaust prompts the question: what will visually complement the vehicle instead. Not an easy question but the designers have a choice: something complementary or something that over emphasizes and over serves as a reminder of a missing component.

Cannot recall who coined the term “angry robot” while referring to cars made in Japan some time in the past. Some these design clues have re-emerged in the new i5 - for better or for worse.

Believe angry robot would be Toyota in the late 2010s

Best place to buy an EV is Louisiana oil country none of them support electric because most of their jobs involve oil and gas rigs so they dealer trade most of there electrics or simply don’t sell enough to get more allocations

Wow it’s impressive what some nicer m performance mods will do to a whole car. I though the new 5 series was hideous when I first saw the release but with these parts and that stance and front it looks really good I think. The M5 will only look better too I have high hopes again. I keep nodding my F90 to make it perfect because I was expecting to keep it for another 3-4 years but idk now that I see this. Either way I’ll probably wait but this gives me hope!
