To each his/her own, I found the G30 and F10 to be complete yawn-fests. I love the G60, can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Some of you don't like the car. Some of you don't like the frozen deep grey.

I like both, placed my order deposit the first day, and will get the frozen deep grey M60 when they're available.

That’s my obsevation too. All kinds of busy geometric lines up front with a smooth bland curvilinear side. Like wearing combat boots with a tux….they probably do that now too.

I want to like these new cars but it's a no from me, I could live with the exterior styling if the interior was on point but I hate these buttonless screen filled interiors there is nothing luxurious about them, they have all the ambiance of an empty room with a flat screen TV chucked in the corner.

Further to my last post, here is a great example of FDG and how it’s always surprising me.

In this photo you’d think it’s matte black.

And again in different light conditions. I see a bronze hue.

Any thoughts on adding the M Sport Carbon package to a Frozen Grey build?

TIA.

Just visited the welt and seen 3 new g60s in there
I’ll come clean and say that up to now this has not been the car for me personally but I wanted to reserved my final judgement until I had seen it in the metal.
Well now that I’ve seen it, I’ll say it doesn’t look as bad as the photos suggested to me
I wasn’t able to step inside unfortunately but my impression on the interior was that it looked a bit cheaper than the outgoing g30
The seats looked plastically , no doubt as this is a man made material
The centre console was shined and again lookednplasticaly. I’m no fan of idrive 8 or later so this was not of interest to me

I know there will be many who like this, fair enough.

I am so glad I decided on the g30 m550 that I got earlier this year rather than gamble on there being an equivalent in the g60 model.

I’ve no doubt this will sell , maybe suv sales will hurt it somewhat but I came away disappointed with what they have done

That my opinion anyway!

Were you able to book a personal vehicle consultation for the i5 at the Welt? I’ll be there in 2 weeks and am considering doing this to get a look inside the car.

I didn’t ask as I didn’t know you could do that.
I took a few photos which I will post when I get back to the U.K. at the end of the week

The motor show here this week in Munich has at least one other 5 here (in that red colour) , I saw whilst they were setting up yesterday. Will visit today. Whether it will allow anyone to sit in side , I don’t know

The car does have some presence , didn’t come across as too large although that’s difficult to assess in a showroom as you don’t have anything to compare with

The other observation was that the shoulder line, ie bottom of the windows in the door seemed quite high, and reminded me of a Mercedes which also have these high shoulder lines which gives an impression of small windows and a less airy view inside. Like looking out of a letter box )exaggerating for effect , hope you know what I mean)

Anyone who thinks it’s high maintenance or stealth PPF over gloss is the answer, fair enough.
In the real world neither are true.
Even today my nephew wanted to take pictures of the car downtown (he’s into photography) in todays light conditions the paint showed hues I’ve never seen.
Stealth PPF, yes maybe over black it can capture some of that matte look. But frozen deep grey has many surprises, even after 18 months.
Simple PH neutral wash shampoo, and dry. No swirls, no holograms on my car, looks like new.
Yes, if it’s damaged and needs paint it’s a problem. But I’d get rid of any car after bodywork, it’s just the way I am so I’ll enjoy it until that happens.
And PPF installs, if Steve jobs is aplying it I’m all in….
I’m enjoying the paint I paid for, worth every penny.
Are you saying that stealth ppf will reduce or remove any additional looks the frozen offers? Ive never owned a frozen bmw and plan (or had planned?) to stealth wrap it, BUT if by doing so doesn't allow for different shades or hues then I may not. For me, ppf allows me to sleep better so it's something I want to do but not if going to dumb down the frozen's different shades/hues.

In my opinion yes, 100%.
I cannot imagine stealth PPF coming anywhere close to the factory frozen finish.
Now, if you want a matte finish and protection matters the most I don’t see any issues.
But like you I’m all about having things perfect, to me the factory finish is exactly that.
Do I worry about stone chips and damage? Yes I do, but I have chosen to enjoy the paint as is. Nothings forever, I’d be more concerned if I kept the car in a wrapper for the next person to open it up and enjoy.

Had another look at a g60 today albeit briefly.
Sat inside for a brief minute
Observations, touch controls everywhere, even the steering wheel ones looked like they were (confirmation please)
Headlining although black felt cheap but then I’m comparing to Alcantara headlining which does lift the interior in my opinion

As you might expect with tons of people getting in all day, the interior screens and central control area were covered in fingerprints. Looked unsightly

Screens despite being a bright sunny day were easy to see even with sunglasses on

Lots of people looking over the car, certainly attracting a lot of attention

I think in general it does look as bad I though in the photos but it’s when you notices the details that I think it’s let down.

Just my opinion and no doubt others will disagree (fine!)
