Pictures of the ICE models already exist. They're the exact same car.

Well then I guess it’s just ugly. No debate needed.

BMW unlike other companies (Mercedes or VW group) dont have two separate platforms for its main cars, like 3 and 5 series. There is not difference.

Indeed black side skirts are a visual trick to hide the car that has batteries below. As seen very clearly on smth like IX.

I have never noticed this on the 4 series though. It’s not a tall car and seems very appropriate, proportionately. So what gives?

font grill look so stupid. it's not even a grill anymore. just more plastic crap on the front with a new led outline and really awkward intakes.

I mean the GranCoupe and I4. For some reason they seem to be a little chunkier mid section, the doors seem a little taller or something. Dont know how to describe, just sense I get. I may be wrong, see the pics for yourself. May be to you they are same same. Or may be the ride height on those cars always seems too high (esp on electrics which BMW refuses to lower because "battery concerns"). I cant say it is huge and obvious, but just an overall feel to them, and the front of the i4 today looks also taller thanks to the kidneys being vertical, while old car is more horizontal. That may be playing visual trick.

Looking at the IX it is of course way more obvious.

Perhaps you’re right. It could be that the vehicle shape and front end just do a better job hiding the height. They need to figure that out because it’s detrimental. Tesla and Lucid do not look clunky and tall like that.

I think this is one of those cars that's going to look a lot better in the flesh than it does in photos. Bangle-era cars were the same way, and I'm seeing a lot of E60 cues in the new 5er. I'm excited to check it out.

It's incredible to have so much negative reaction to this, IMHO. I don't get it.
It looks so much like any BMW sedan.

Definitely love the interior, but having mixed thoughts given that grill… I like how my black 2023 330e has original grills with blacked out trim . Looks sleeeeek as people have mentioned!
