Photobucket Block p-500 WTF

So I'm sure many of y'all have noticed the dreaded image hosting giant photobucket basically lock out all 3rd party hosting on free accounts.

It looks like this on the forums.

Any user that hosted pics using PB to forums on a free account, is now being forced to pay a membership to have their pictures be available to post on websites.

http://photobucket.com/p500/

This essentially just killed millions of posts on the web. Now when you pull up a trusty DIY you get those ugly warnings and you're SOL.

What will we do! lol. Maybe post up something to get any users that submitted any DIY projects, or just threads in general to repost pics using a different website?

I use imgur.com/upload for uploading all my images because I knew PB would do something like this eventually.

As for DIY & DIY Makers, I've always made the guide in a word doc; exported it to pdf and then just uploaded the pdf to forums.

I straight up deleted my Photobucket account after I found out. And the message I typed in when they asked me for a reason is, "Go fuck youself. I'm not paying $400 dollars to you."

This is why we always say to upload directly to our forum. Your pics will be there in a thread for many years to come. Especially when making a DIY... always post directly to BP. Click the ADVANCE mode... then upload your pics via the paper clip(or "+" icon).

The dimensions are a bit to limited though. Since most people get high resolution screens these days you need to upload photos at x2 resolution to get them crisp and 1900x1400 doesn’t cut it in 2018.

I just resize my photos in a smaller pixel size... normally around 200mb. It's not that hard to use a photo shop program to resize my photos in a batch.

I think you misunderstood, there is no problem to resize them. I want to upload them in bigger sizes so that they look better on HiDPI screens - therefor the dimensions are the limiting factor.
