And I thought this was a comparison thread from drive perspective with 3 previous owners of G30. My bad, change the title of the post maybe?

Yeah. And a pic with all three cars together wouldn't kill anyone.

Remember, as the saying goes: Pics. Or it didn't happen.

I just rented a G60 530i for a few days in FL and came out with mixed impressions.

The car feels big and luxurious in both positive and negative ways. It’s very quick on highways, but doesn’t really invite you to push hard on twisties. Maybe a 540i with M-Sport package would change that.

It’s comfortable but the non-adaptive suspension seems a little less settled than the adaptive suspension in comfort mode on my G23 M440i. The cabin is predictably spacious and seats are great.

iDrive 8.5 is ok. Being a rental I didn’t log in with my BMW ID and did not customize it much so I’m sure with a little more tweaking it would be great. I like the big, expansive infotainment screen with its high res and everything feels very snappy. That said, my iPhone’s battery drained incredibly quick when connected to that thing. Thank goodness for the charging pad in the central console.

The styling is ok. I don’t really like it as much as I like the G30. I particularly dislike the trims around the windows with the big 5. My wife disliked that part too.

Overall it’s a car that didn’t really make me love it. It’s a comfortable, well appointed luxury sedan, but I’m not sure it distinguishes itself from other brands the same way other cars in the BMW lineup do, including the current 3 and 4 series that I feel retain more of that BMW personality.

If I was on the market for one of those (which I may be next year) I’d probably choose the G60 over anything else, but I’d quite happily lease it and move on to something else afterwards unlike other cars that I bought and intend to keep because I love them.

I still can figure out why BMW chose to disable LIM for the US. They did the same on the X1. I drove a friend's 2023 iX1 in Europe briefly. It had LIM, which was activated by a button on the left of the steering wheel.(the button was shared with with cruse control, so it took me a a while to figure out)

When my 2023 X1 finally arrived in the US in April, I didn't even realized that LIM was not available(more like deleted). I kept pressing that same button and it did nothing.(except for cruise control) After searching online for a while, I realized that BMW had disable that feature for the US market.

Is the availability of the feature in the US market option limited like it was on the G30? On the G30 you only got the LIM option if you opted to not add the Driver's Assistant Pro option with ACC.

Yes. Notice how that manual says you press the MODE button to cycle through the options. In the US, there's no Manual Limiter mode when you cycle through since it's disabled in software.

You still get the LIM option with DAP. Steering wheel will look like this: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/aEUAA...j-/s-l1600.jpg

Great they addressed that on the G60. I wish they did the same on the G30!

They also need to do the same in the US.
