Ordered on Sunday was told it should arrive late January or February but we will see….I have my build number so I can track it but curious from others what I should expect for the timeline of steps.

Below are the dates for my order of an i5 back in January 2024. I'm in the Los Angeles area so if you're in Washington state, yours may be about the same or a little longer since they will probably have to truck the car from Port Hueneme up to Washington.

IDK. His may be sent to the Port of Tacoma. There are a lot of cars that come in for PNW there.

However your timeline and his being a 2025 might be different. I ordered mine in June, and just now went to production, and still has not gone to Body shop. He should be able to see what week he is scheduled for production using the MyBMW Website and the Order Number.

Thanks for the data point, and nice to know I’ll see a cumulative image of my car moving through steps. I thought about the i5 and enjoyed test driving one, but don’t drive nearly enough to make it worth it w/ surcharge tacked onto registration here in WA state based on average mileage. Not trying to get political just objectively stating I don’t want to give up more money to others than I have to…

I too was thinking port of Tacoma but can inquire w/ my SA as when the order was placed they have to correct a few things from what I approved. Admittedly glad I was given the build information as I had to bring it to their attention so I suspect them getting the errors corrected will take sometime to and could actually push it back further.

That said if I don’t see the error corrected next week I’ll follow up as I would assume they have to update the build details in the system and that flows to the view I see. But maybe that is corrected solely on the backend?

Rumor also has it per my SA that they have or will have shortly a webcam link where you can view your vehicle at certain production stages. Admittedly not holding my breath but if accurate that would be a nice surprise.

So I have a feeling your car may arrive earlier.

My car timeline has moved up, admittedly I am in the UK and it is an i5 not a 550 which is newly released, so I think logistics might have something to do with it, but i was initially told early November when order was placed on July 1st.

That moved to early October when my car went to status 150 on July 30th. I was told today by Genius that it is still status 150 but is now scheduled to arrive at the dealer Week Commencing September 23rd.

Weirdly last time I checked I was told it was due for true production (moving past 150) in Wk 36 which is WC September 2nd, but today he said he didn't know when it would be in production but that could see its planned delivery week.

I clarified whether he meant ready for delivery i.e at the port in Germany or delivery to me and he confirmed the latter.

Even if my car comes early October it will only have been 3 and a bit months from order to delivery. I can't see a 550 taking double that?

Without looking back and checking I am pretty sure that is very similar to my build patch5674 Think I ordered my 550 (also UK) in week 50 with delivery estimated to me for week 15. This was brought forward in week 1, production in week 5 and the car was with my dealer at the end of week 8. I took it delivery in week 9, 1st March. About 4 weeks from production and only 11 weeks or so from order.

Maybe I was lucky with a slot and boat to the UK but it is not always a tale of woe and delay. So hopefully nacs will also be quicker, even allowing an extra couple of weeks for crossing the big pond

Just look at your design sheet, or order form, or whatever your dealer calls it - the thing like in the picture below that lists all the details of your order. When I placed my order, the dealer gave me a copy of it and had me sign it to confirm I was getting what I ordered. At the top, you'll have a code for the port of arrival (I've circled it) and that will tell you where it will come in. In the example below, that code is for Port Hueneme near Los Angeles.

Thanks for this tip. I have the same port as you so looks like LA area it will be. Admittedly I was asked to approve a separate sheet as I went the individual route and then they manually created the build sheet which got submitted and which I found the errors on so now I’m having to track all these little things down.

At least you can check it all. Best to check it all now thoroughly before too much time passes and no further changes are allowed. Congrats again on the order! Hopefully you will love your new car! What color and specs did you order?

I went all �� as the M5 wait was too long and I’m not getting younger plus first car I’ve ever bought new for me as I’m usually on a plane each week as a consultant.

So what were the errors they made? Every time I made a change: First to add B&W Sound, Then to add LUX Seating, and finally to add DAPP, my SM made the changes and BMW AG acknowledged it the same or next day, depending on what time it was entered.

So if they submitted any changes right away it will not set production back any. As long as you are in Status Code 111, or 112, you can still make changes. Once you go 150, the build is locked. But beware once you see 112, you better hurry to make any changes. I tried to make one, and the guy waited until the next day and it was too late. It went to 150 in like 2 days. Still says week 36 for build though.

Washington cars go to California as the vehicle distribution center is in Oxnard. They need to go there first. The other centers are in New Jersey, Texas, Maryland and Georgia.

Wrong package, wrong color for brake caliper. Appears to be all sorted out as of today when I logged in to check.

Looks like they moved my production from week 39 to week 37!!!

Now if I can only figure out how many electric miles.....

I have been in the paint booth for a week and a half Where are you seeing the status codes? I tried to get my dealer to change caliper colors when I was "scheduled for production" but was told it was two late. As it is in the paint booth(for a long time apparently) I know I can not change now.

Combination of the vehicle inquiry report provided by my dealer to show all the corrections were made plus a call to the genius # to see what additional information they could tell me.

Did you also do a custom color?

I went with black sapphire metallic. My current 17 540 is bluestone metallic and I really wanted to go back to black. I also went with the espresso seats.
