Yep... He invented most a ton of things. Tourbillon, Chronograph, Fusee chain, blued hands with little circles, a certain type of numeral still popular today, certain type balance spring, equation of time (pretty sure on that one). He is to horology what Einstein is to non-Newtonian physics. Not the only one to contribute, but the one on whose contributions most of the new stuff is built.

Yup, the Nautilus with the blue dial and moon phase. My guy had been sitting on it for a while. Just moved it to my cousin for $38k! I was livid he didn't tell me about it.

I have a 5227 in yellow with a black strap. 5960 is a beautiful piece. Still trying to see on in person.

Fly to Vegas bro. I have never failed to find one there. I know where one is in Philly. Stainless, white face, bracelet... the exact one I would want. She place has a 5170 and a couple 5960s. I REALLY like the 5227 by the way. I think the half-hunter style... or what do they call it now... dust cover... heh... is pretty cool.

What are you rocking now, a 36?

Panerai's always feel bigger, as the cases are a lot thicker than other watches. That said, this shouldn't feel to weird coming from a 36.

Lol, I'm actually going there in a few weeks. Was planning on doing so sight seeing there, if you know what I mean.

The thing I like about the 5227 is that it's super understated. Like, no one bugs me about it unless they are a watch guy, in which case a nice conversation follows.

I am with you on understated watches by the way. My best watches are the most unassuming. Precisely why I don't love Rolex or Panerai (or *gasp* Breitling) It isn't that they aren't decent watches, it is just that to me they scream "look at me, I have a big expensive watch on".

Lmao, exactly. Hence why I like wearing my Panerai. No one really asks me about it. Everytime I wear the Daytona, Yachtmaster, or Emergency, I always get unwanted attention.
