I say 3 Series GT or 4 Series.... or...

Since Scott said new era.... How about a new concept 4 Series Shooting break, as a concept car ? Basically a 4 series gran coupe touring ?

Edit: Actually since it'a a FEP, probably not a shooting break.. But the idea would be interesting ! BMW are you listening ? :-)

A 2series Shooting Brake would be much more important from sales volume perspective.

That confirms its 3GT lol. On another note, I don't know why we need teasers for such pointless models.

Other people might be interested, even if you are not.

Good point! Let's just say some of the more important additional information from my original post was moderated/removed.

Guys, do you see the power of marketing? Before you complained about the name changing, but now it feels like it has always been.

Isn't the name "4 Series" enough to justify a new era of 3 Series Coupé?
In what way would the 3 Series GT be a new era? It has already begun, with the 5 Series GT. The next step is the 1 Series GT, first MPV and first FWD. But that is not the car we see in the pic. Alone the rims tell that. It would get 1 Series M wheels and not 3 Series M wheels.

It is the 4 Series M. And yes it gets the same rims as the 3 Series M. If you look, both the 5 Series M and 6 Series M can have the same 351 M style rims from factory.

I say 4 Series M Package Production. If it was a Concept it would have painted brake calipers with M logos.

Thats the same exact crease as the 1er with the same msport wheels as the m135i. Should be the 2er/1er M?

Actually chances are high that it is a 3 GT.

Why?

Rims=3 series M

Camo pictures=have a strange opening near the front wheel

New era=it is a completely new model

Open minded=it does not follow the classic BMW spirit

We will see...

It is not really a new era. We already have the 5 GT. Same goes for X4.

Although not a confirmation, I think this pretty much proves what we were all expecting. F32!

I am not convinced that this is the 4 just yet.

South said this:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...3&postcount=64

Which I take to mean that the picture is of a production vehicle (more advanced than an FEP), not of a concept (less advanced than an FEP, as least as far as product evolution goes). There's no way BMW would show us the production car when they are about to unveil a concept. Note that I am not saying it couldn't be the 4 concept (I may be misinterpreting south's words), just that it does not seem certain to me quite yet.

Also, LA comes before Detroit. What might BMW be unveiling there, and could this be it?

I take this as a confirmation that the car infact is a 3 GT. Noway they are reveiling a 4-series if they are going to show a concept in detrot. And they say that 3Gt might be public there

Lots of smart analysis and great guesses! Some are expecting too little and some too much

It's not an official release, full reveal, or even a teaser by BMW, but spy photos that we have of an upcoming model.

We don't usually do teasers, but under an agreement with the photographer we were not allowed to post the set until today.

It will be posted this morning so look for it within the next couple of hours.
