I didn't fix your photo, but I learned through my own photos that if I take a portrait shot with my camera and it is saved as a .jpg file, it goes sideways on this forum. To fix it, I saved the photo as a png file, then saved that one as a jpg again. For some reason, that did it.

And I learned if I want to post photos on this forum from my phone, I have to hold the phone horizontal instead of vertical when I take the picture. Lol.

Glad and surprised I could help. After I downloaded your photo, I opened it from the photo gallery in my cheap samsung, clicked edit - rotate - save.

I vaguely remember one of my kids showing me a while back

Another update - Today I cleared assembly, QC, Final assembly, and carrier assignment, and I'm in 190 - on my way to port!

Very exciting and while I'm very glad not to have gotten stuck in QC purgatory, given everything that happened today it seems that the QC inspection probably took all of 5 minutes and I wouldn't have minded a bit more scrutiny from that team.

Model of G60 You Ordered: 540i
Date of Order: 11/2/24
Date VIN assigned: 11/6/2024
Production week assigned: 47
Production started: 11/20/24 (or perhaps a day or two earlier)
Entered QC: 11/21/24
Final assembly: 11/21/24
Dispatched from factory: 11/21/24

Current Status on myBMW: 190-"Dispatched from Factory" (as of 11/21/24)

Update: I sent an email to Genius and received a response:

Our records indicate that your 2025 BMW 540ix is currently in transit from the plant to the port of departure, as of 10/31/2024. Since your vehicle has not yet arrived at the port of departure, there's no further updates on the status of your new BMW on our end.

Unfortunately, we've been advised that due to circumstances in the global logistics operations at the port, that are outside BMW’s control, there are transport delays.

I have realized that I will not be getting my car until 2025 rolls around! 😭

Okay, the “global logistics operations” issue makes me wonder what the current time frames are for port arrival to port departure. I don’t understand though? How can your car be in transit to the port since 10/31? Mine left the factory on 11/13 and was at the port on the 15th?

*sigh* I guess that means the chance of my 540 having gotten on the ship that left on 11/20 after sitting their for a mere 5 days, is about 0.0%

But honestly, BMW Customer Service is probably rubber stamping every inquiring with that. I don’t think those people have a damn clue about shipping times.

When I inquired they said 6-8 weeks to ship which is clearing utter nonsense; we’ve had forum members (recently) with shipments within 2-3 weeks of port arrival. I have a feeling they provide a worse case scenario so no one can call back and say, “Well you told me it’d be shipping in 3 weeks!”

Can anyone share their recent port arrivals (Germany) and port departure dates (estimated or known)?

I don’t understand something. How can those people say that your car has been in transit to the port since 10/31? That makes no sense to me.

My 540 left the factory on 11/15 and updated to “At the port” on 11/18. I wonder if it’s at the port and someone missed a scan?

I’d give it 2-3 days and see if it updates to In Transit, on that ship that left on the 20th, Asian Majesty.

I wonder if a search of the payload would be fruitful? Just thinking/wondering if such a search is possible…

I’ve been reading about that. Sadly it use to be possible. You could go to the W&W website and do a cargo search by your VIN and find it.

I attempted to do this and now the W&W website has a notice that says something to the effect of “Due to security concerns, it will no longer be possible to search for cargo by VIN. Customers can use the Bill of Lading”

So, we’re out of luck. Who knows what that number would be 😒

Look what my sleuthy self found on another forum:

From Bremerhaven to US and Canada (Halifax) with Wallenius Wilhelmsen:
First letter is always A, after, it's the boat number found in the schedule (ex.: Don Carlos = EA225). The last 2 digits are 01, 02 or 03 (must be tested - sometime US=01 and CAN = 02 or 03). (For Zeebrugee port, it ends by z1, z2 or z3)

(ex.: AEA22502 = boat Don Carlos to Halifax and AEA22501 = boat Don Carlos to New York) With that, if you have your VIN#, you can see in the list associate to a BOL# if your car is on a boat.

Our 550e made it to the vehicle production center in Brunswick on Monday. Today we learned that we will pick it up at the Performance Center on December 11th. Totally thrilled to be finally getting it. Totally anxious that we may be driving it home in the snow. Thank God for all wheel drive and new all season tires. We expected an exciting event, I hope it isn’t overly exciting.

Have a blast at the PCD. They do a great job preparing the car.

Enjoy the ride home.

I pick up tomorrow morning!

From what I heard, most are open, but not all. I haven't checked I40 west of Asheville.

How is the suspension? Admittedly quite impressed you were able to get both options added.

I tried to post pics earlier this afternoon, and they just disappeared.

I will try again later. Is there any trick other than dropping into attachment manager?

Got very lucky on the options. CA had a contact somehow.

As for the suspension, compared to the 704 msport on my previous 530e :

It feels much more compliant over rough roads. Generally more comfortable around town. I have not had a chance to try out sport mode yet.

As for the rear wheel steering - very interesting - when I make a 90 degree intersection turn - cars turns as normal, but at the end of the turn and I crank in a bit more steering, it feels like the rear end of the car just comes around.

If I figure out how to post pics, I will take a picture of the sport mode settings and you can compare to normal. I wonder if there are more settings than standard?
