I can tell you, living in hurricane central we never want to see Cantore. Coming in a very close second is "We're from FEMA and are here to help"!!

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

I got 9" here. South East Pa, bit of sleet mixed in overnight. I've already knocked out 5 of my neighbors driveways, I love snow days!

My dad, York PA, was plowing all day yesterday and his neighbors as well, hell he sent me a video at 10pm last night and was still at it. He has a big front loader tractor with a sealed & heated cabin, so he has been having a blast as well lol! I'll be heading that way Friday, I know my dogs miss the snow!

Santa brought me an early Christmas gift this morning...a text alert saying that work was closed for the day. I put in for a holiday vacation from tomorrow morning through the end of the year, so I'm not complaining about getting an extra day off as a head start!
It looks like we have just under a foot outside, with a disclaimer that I haven't taken my official ruler outside because the snow isn't level due to overnight drifting on my snow board. The temperature was about 5 degrees colder last night than forecast, and the snow fell as fine powder and not the heavy/wet stuff that they were expecting to take down trees and power lines. Not that I'm complaining.....

I think Maybe we go 8'' TOPS here in MA 30m outside of boston. Far from the 12-16'' they were predicting. School was closed for no good reason. I had to go to school on days like this, there was no snow days for this tiny bit of snow that was done in the early AM. It is still snowing a bit but very little accumulation.

As someone who spent a lot of my childhood in the snow belts south of Buffalo (Go Bills!) where 3-4 feet of lake-effect snow was not uncommon, I never really minded snow...until my ticker failed a few years ago.
Last month, I started to plan our retirement escape from New York State to South Carolina, where their average winter snowfall is one inch.....

We did! Now, it’s the breaking news: “Snow storm forecast for mid-January”. What’s even crazier is that every year, people rush to buy, and stores sell out of shovels! What happened to all the shovels sold the prior winter(s)? Did the old population leave, and take their shovels with them?

The sports headlines today are about Buffalo and Green Bay having snow in their forecasts for this weekend's NFL playoff games. Snow showers that is, with a high of a balmy 34 F for the normally-frozen tundra at Lambeaux Field.
It isn't like they are calling for snow almost up to the goal post crossbars, likr what happened in Buffalo a few years ago where they had to actually move the game to a neutral field in Detroit due to the lake effect dumping in Orchard Park: Then again, spending a lot of my childhood living within walking distance of the stadium, I have seen a few overnight "flurries" forecasts turn into 3-4 FEET of lake-effect snow. But, that's life in the snow belts south of Buffalo.....
