Wasn't a bad game from Italy.
But what the hell was going on with the US Guys? There was no fending. The Aussies where surprisingly powerful in the second half. Those yellow fellows have no gameness for 90 minutes |

they are not particularly powerful, just that the japanese are running out of stamina. you can see they crumbled in the last 10 minutes and just not moving almost. the 30+ temperature is having a major impact.. as for USA, they got overpowered in many aspects by the czech.

I watched the Italy game today with about 20 old school italian men at my uncle's house. What an experience...
My bro, sis in law, and my baby neice came also. She is 15 months old, this was her very 1st world cup soccer game ever, and .....she cried her eyes out. Why? Because she got soo scared when we started yelling and screaming that she had no idea what was going on. Poor thing! haha.. Mom and daughter had to watch the game in the other room. However, her mom is brazilian.. you can bet she is pumped for tomorrow. I almost had to kick her out cause she kept saying brazil brazil brazil haha.. My neice is gonna have a tough time deciding who to go for when she gets older.

The Italians pretty much had control of the game. They missed a few good occasion plus they had 11 corner kicks in the first half which clearly shows everybody that Italy was the superior team.
I am looking forward to Italy vs Usa. I think the Americans will play a better game against Italy than they did against the Tcheck, but not enough to beat the Italians.

France are a club of superstars not working together. Only Zidane was doing rather well. Henry and Vieira
Going to watch Brasil now.

Actually i didnt think brazil played that well. Crotia held up strongly. Brazil's goal keeper was great, he saved them a few times. Ronaldinho wasnt able to do anything, everytime he had the ball atleast 3 crotia players were on him.
I was rooting for crotia, however, i was watching the game at my sis in law's house w/ all her brazilian friends, so i had to keep my feelings to myself haha. O well.. atleast it was only 1-0

Brazil is a pure dissapointment. Their defense really needs to be aware of those air strikes. If Crotia possess more experience on handling/timing, you might be looking at a tie or even upset

i couldnt believe this was the "holy" brazil everyone was talking about,, Croatia was playing a 100 times better!!!! they just had a lack of experience...
if brazil continue to play like this, i would b extreamly happy, because the will make it to the 2nd round against Italy or CR, and u cant play with those teams like brazil played yesterday n expect to winn

Hate to break to you Brazilian Haters, did Brazil play "great"? Nope. Did Croatia play great? absolutely. Did the Brazilian press the croatian after scoring the lone goal? Not really. How would you guys compare Ghana to Croatia? I would reserve judgement on Italia until they take on the CR. Brazil's test will most likely be Australia.

KOREA WON!!!
I'm gonna download the match later. I saw Brazil against Croatia. Croatia held up well. Ronaldo had a good opportunity for a goal, but blew it, and Brazil's goalie was teh win. I was waiting for Ronaldinho to do some crazy stuff, but he was kind of passive in this game. I still think they'll pick up momentum later though, and Croatia's defense was pretty good. I hope Korea reaches the semis at least. That would be cool. |

For those who watched the Italy vs. Ghana match you probably noticed that both Italian goals came from the middle. What Italy lacked during the game was the laterals, unfortunatly they weren't able to cross the ball and that's why Gilardino and Toni were always chasing the ball. The goals that they both almost scored came from the middle. Apparently Zambrotta will be in the starting line up next game which will certainly help the wings he's the best player in the world in that position. Furthermore, eventhough Grosso did not have a great game I think he will play a better game against The USA and will create some opportunity to score on the left side.
If I were the coach instead of playing Zambrotta on the right and Grosso on the Left I would play Zambrotta on the Left like he does with Juventus and play Oddo on the Right (Oddo had great year with Lazio). So with a strong middle and strong laterals Italy will be unbeatable.
