Yes, I was a LA major and have had the opportunity to employ many engineers and a few scientists throughout my career.

All kidding aside, each major provides for a good, useful education. What matters is how the graduates apply that education, and use it to grow. LA typically starts at a lower level because it isn’t a vocational degree (like Law, Medicine or Engineering), but used well can excel in those fields (graduate study), business, etc. Engineers also can broaden themselves and get to where they can look at people above the ankle, a few even eye-to-eye. . Good leaders come from all educational backgrounds (including non-degrees).

Same here. The way I see things is that without knowing what the desired end result is, how can anyone make any form of an assessment. The liberal arts cup has money in it, but if the desired result was to have forks adorned atop the glass, money or not, liberal arts failed. The liberal arts cup also rendered the original device useless with currency as I don't know of anyone who would drink from a cup that's has dirty money in it.
