Lol. Even the fit guys make me roll my eyes. Sucks because sometimes I like to film my lifts to look at my form, and these guys make me feel like a douche for doing so.

Big difference between doing that and taking selfies

I film my bigger more complex lifts as well, one of the best things you can do for form and technique.

What cracks me up is the Globo-tards filming bicep curls and tricep push downs then flexing/posing in the mirror....smh

Oh absolutely. I've caught and corrected many bad habits by filming myself, and will continue to do so. My point was that passer-by's would probably assume I'm another insta-douche.

Got my cardio in going to and from the water fountain last night because some slob couldn't keep their hygiene in check. His BO was way too much to walk past more than once. Had to a walk the long way around the gym.

so I'm starting to see a bunch of new members joining as the New Year is coming which is a good thing as I always think everyone should be healthy and the first step is joining the gym. anyways I'm seeing all kinds of people using the equipment in the wrong manner. some unsafe in which I feel like I should say something or correct them but I don't want to be "That Guy!" as we know what that means.

the flat benches were literally being used just for sitting or texting on their phone. this one guy was doing abdominal crunches when there's literally an area that's got plenty of room

I hate when I go, and just look longingly at the leg curl machine then wake up the next morning with ham cramps -twice

took the advice of a fellow workout enthusiast and he recommend after a brutal leg workout to run on the treadmill or use the elyptical for like 15 min. been doing it for a couple of years with no soreness the following day

Second the cardio post leg day, I usually hit the bike or stair machine. Usually can't run as my legs are jello by that point and I'd probably hurt myself. I'll usually run the day after leg day to get some blood flowing in em

Yeah seeing too many new faces. I agree I want them to be healthy and do their thing, but people are just constantly getting in my way recently. I mean come on atleast have an idea of what youre going to do/how youre going to do it prior to coming in.

But I wasn't even there for leg day, I did back/bi. I just looked longingly at the curl bench that was temporarily out at the pool.

My go-to now, in addition to the magnesium supplements (thanks again, belgie) is soaking in my olympic-sized ice bath. The pool isn't heated, and I think (from the burning hands) that the water temp is down to about 50. Friday after my 4.87 mile soccer game I went over, showered, then alternating jacuzzi 5 minutes, pool 2-3 minutes, 3 sets. Next day only minimal lower leg soreness. I *MEANT* to ride the bike Sunday, but it wasn't in the plans.

I've only been going to the gym for about 2 weeks now but the one constant that I see is cell phones. People walking in the gym on facetime, getting in other peoples way and then giving them dirty looks for interrupting their facetime chat. People on treadmills walking between 1-2 mph while on their phones. People walking around talking on their phones on speakerphone. It amazes me that people can't put their phone down long enough to actually work out.

I bring my phone in but only to have music as I'm doing cardio. Once I step off the elliptical or the treadmill it goes back in my back pack.

Not overly strict with my phone use. I use it during cardio to pass some time depending on what cardio I'm doing. It'll come with me throughout my workout, usually just throw it down next to whatever piece of equipment I use but I will rarely use it duirn my lifts. Usually deters people from jumping on the equipment in use if I'm doing a super-set a few feet away so thats a bonus.

Tight Hamstrings and tight hips can cause serious low back issues. In fact most ppl think it’s their back when it really isn’t.

I always make sure to stretch and mobilize hams/hips/low back. I suggest concentrating on the big three...

1. Psoas
2. Piriformis
3. IT band (Iliotibial)
