Yeah... that sounds terrible. I can't tell you the last time I had to wait for a pump to become available to get gas. I bet at least 5-10 years minimum. It'll probably happen today now that I put this out there

It's going to get a lot worse very quickly when those people in non-ideal situations run out of options and have to use public charging. Right now public charging is mostly convenience thing and many EV owners never use them, or use once or twice a year. If %6 of new cars are EV now, and most are charged at home, what's it going to look like when 100% of new cars are EV, and only some can be charged at home? It's a non-linear equation.
Answer is easy. PHEV. Government can still say all electric and it solves the charging issue.

With the current de-policing efforts of nearly every major US city, being a sitting duck cabled up to a charger for 40 minutes? Nah, no thanks. And being female (not me), even worse.

100%. And keeps jet fuel and heating oil costs in check. Best solution by far.

Had a situation happen to me that really got me thinking. Charger to my wife's X5 hybrid took a dump, completely dead. Took a week to go through the warranty process and get the replacement installed.

If I had an all electric, that would have basically taken the vehicle out for several days. These are the types of things we should be weighing and considering when talking about the viability of all-electric vehicles.

wouldnt be an issue with a Tesla there are charging stations everywhere....and also never heard of a home Tesla charger failure

but even with a BMW, it's not like you wouldnt be able to find a charger station nearby to get you through the week

Never for gas

Even during extreme shortages the stations I go to never looked like that, but I don't get gas from QT, RT, Sam's, Costco, Walmart, Kroger, etc. I remember not being able to find 93 anywhere for 1 day over a weekend but got some the next day and was the only person there.

It’s truly too bad that this forum doesn’t have some type of award for the forums biggest troll because you would win by a long shot. I’m actually kind of impressed at this point. You absolutely don’t give a crap.

200 yards away for gas that’s one cent less a gallon you do not see this. But my Costco is the same way every freaking weekend. That’s why I don’t get gas there anymore. I’m not waiting to save $.20.

I have never shopped at Costco.

What exactly are these people saving per gallon, to endure waiting in line?

Versus going to next corner and instantly filling up at Shell or Mobil?

Costco gas is no good for M cars as only 97RON over here and they require 98 RON minimum, the nearest one to me is over 30 mi away and too far.

$.01-$.02. That’s it. However, Costco is pretty awesome for all kinds of other things. I get all my meats there and coffee and lots of other stuff.

I'm.in the UK. Costco super diesel is 20p lesser per litre than shell/BP. That's a £15 saving on a single refill. Tbh I queue up on worst days for 10 minutes but get 500 mile range on a full tank and save £15 plus ... on good days no queue at all.. what's not to like

Actually, if I could get that kind of savings for regular gas, I would wait 10 minutes also. We just don’t have that kind of savings at our local Costco. Like I said only one one or two cents a gallon savings.
