Hey MSM, I wouldn't be busting your chops for making an honest mistake, an error in judgment, or even for having the moxy to push your car. It's driving like a maniac during the day on a residential street and with a passenger at that that makes what happened not an accident.

It's called hate. Like I said before, if insurance pays and you learned your lesson, F*** people who like to bash to build themselves up. If you check their other posts, they seem to know everything yet they haven't even taken delivery of their cars yet.

When 90% of your peers dont like you, perhaps it's time to take a closer at yourself than to shift the blame elsewhere. It's really not that hard.

regarding driving like a plumb, it is not worth it. On february the 8th of this year at 00.30 hours i turned up a minute after a big BIG accident in a 30 zone, a yougn lad with his mate driving way to fast (-1 air temp) and took out a whole lamp post the scenes i saw that night will live with me forever a poor boy laying on the pavement (20m from the car, which was unrecognisable) saturated in blood dying. Not a very nice sight. He did die on the way to hospital it was his own fault but lets not forget who he left behind, His mother, father siblings, friends, work collegeus etc THEY ARE ALL AFFECTED just SWITCH your head on before putting the pedal to the metal... rant over carlos just remember, drive carefully |

i'm glad you're ok and hopefully learn from this. if i were your parents(you wouldnt be driving a bmw muchless a new honda civic) and this car got fixed, it would be on cars.com for sale after it got repaired.
the lack of responsibility in driving like that just shows your inexpierience of driving and don't belong behind the wheels of such a car. I'm in my early 20's and i'm personally nervous of a RWD car since most of my expierience comes from FWD and AWD cars. I never personally have expierienced driving a lot in a rwd car, so when i go out and drive one i'm driving it like im just learning to drive. It all boils down to knowing your limits and your cars limit before you even go off on a speeding spree and even attempt to make such a turn. if you tried it to impress a chick believe me no chick is worth any casualties that might have occured. |

OMFG
Thats a narrow street with a hard 90 degree right turn; its really suicide to go there in 50mph... Even a F1 car would have hard times doin that...

Oh also, In my country, we don't have racetracks that you can go or similar testing areas. When you want to test you car to the limit, you have to be irresponsible and try it on the public roads.
I maxed my car to 260km/h downtown made my first power slide on a bridge etc.. they could have ended with serious damage and casualties :P ; but I have no choice. Sometimes you blood boils and you wanna do things like that, especially when you re young. But in the states or europe, you have tons and tons of tracks to play with your car... Wish we had something similar to the Nunburgring in Turkey. So keep your stunt driving to the tracks...

Accident caused by reckless driving. If someone had been on that sidewalk or watering those flowers you'd be explaining to their loved ones how it was "an accident that I took that turn onto your residential street at highway speeds".

Hey xMSMx, OP.
There are a lot of folks here telling you you are an idiot, and carrying on like they have never made a mistake like this. BUT I promise you this. EVERY last one of us have had a couple of decent F-Ups in our past. Every Last one. So most are speaking from experience, and know a whole lot about what you did to get your car where you did because we've all been in similar circumstances. We've all gotten lucky and all the arrogance and posturing doesn't change that. Now the point some of these folks are trying to make is that you need to understand and accept that you are 100% responsible for screwing up a perfectly good machine. You need to learn from it, remember it, and NEVER forget that you got lucky. Lots of young invincibles pretty much ruin their lives playing around on the streets. This could have been much worse. As it is, it's just a some body work and a pissed off city crew that has to do some replanting. No big deal, all the panicky the sky is falling "What if's" are fair but pointless. You know the WHAT IF's, just make certain you are aware of the hazards before you decide to play on public roads. Ideally, take it outta town where the worst you are likely to do is kill yourself, and that's fair enough. Ignore idiots holding up the "hate" card. It's a concept that leads to insular thinking and self absorption. Not everyone who thinks you're dressed funny, driving poorly, or making shitty decisions is "Hating". Most of them are trying to genuinely get through to you that you need to re-evaluate your stance or habits in relationship to a particular thing. It's called society, and this is how it works. Folks tend to be over the top on the forums sure, but it's still most likely NOT hate, it's simply over the top advice and in some cases ingrained arrogance. Don't get into the "THEY'RE HATERS" mindset, it's chronically ignorant and is a cowardly way to manage or hide from thoughts and opinions that differ from you're own. The real haters out there are the ones usually screaming "HATERS" at the top of their lungs because that is where they live their lives, wrapped up in petty fragile attitude and hate. Bottom line, Mommy, Daddy, Rich Uncle Thomas, or the insurance company, doesn't freaking matter who foots the bill, it's just metal and money. Learn from it, remember that WE HAVE ALL DONE STUPID SHIT... The KEY is to remember your stupid shit and learn from it! Just like all of us old farts out here have. I think this is why folks go over the top, we REALLY HAVE been THERE & DONE THAT, so we feel compelled to share our hard won and expensively gained wisdom and experience much of which could save some of you "Young-ins" a lot of pain, hassle, and aggravation.

you have to understand whether your driving a ferrari or a civic carsn have there limits and your supposed to test them on an autocross not residential neighnohoods or pulling into them!!!!! you are an idiot...why would you take a turn that fast other than for show.... so how can you be so shocked at everyones responses on here...your ok.....don't you realize you could have killed someone cause the car was out of control and you were in a residential area...and your still complaining about people flaming you on here...geeze...yeah it was an accident but only b/c you were stupid not cause you were being careful and driving normal...you caused the accident....it wasn't like the road was wet or icey...this was caused by carelessness...case and point my last accident was caused by someone flying through an intersection when i had the green light...a car was turning to go south when i was sitting waiting to go north when the light just changed and an asian lady in a minivan hit the car turning at 40mph and they careened there car into me when i was just getting ready to go as the light changed and i was sitting still watching the car turn when smack and they went into me....now that was carelessness on the minivan not paying attention with 3 kids in the van....i didn't even move and i got hit and i couldn't reverse in time cause a car was right behind me!! i was an innocent bi standard in this accident cause someone else caused it therefore i wasn't the idiot.. someone always is when they have control of there car and intentionally lose control cause they have no clue what the limits of the car are or are careless!!! hence you shouldn't be driving a beamer...go get a civic or a minivan like the lady that wasn't paying attention!!!! you should learn how to drive before you step into a real automobile!!!! sounds like you need to autocross more!!!! ________ ZG1000 ________ iolite vaporizer ________ WHAT'S THE BEST VAPORIZER ________ brunette girl Cams Last edited by purplewidow; 09-11-2011 at 06:30 AM.. |
