All the current cars aren't fake. That is how they launched now, that is how their aero concepts are. They will improve as the days go by but that doesn't mean they're fake. Fake implies nothing will remain the same when the real races start, and the only car that fits that definition is the redbull. All cars will develop throughout the year and even track to track... That doesn't mean they are a "concept". That's just how f1 works, it's a constant technological battle.

I think it looks good lol, but the nose would be way too low imo. That wouldn't be good for underbody air flow. The williams concerned me in this aspect because all cars launched so far had 4 wing elements with the lowest one being a flow conditioner, the williams didn't look like it had this. There was only a small gap on the lowest element for some air flow. This might mean williams missed this detail and could be bad news for them again. They could've had it in the silverstone shake down but I couldn't see it.

The view post meeting is Masi is at least moving position, he is good but not as a race director. Circuit safety pre-race and helping new circuits seems to be more his strength and that could help with live incident remediation but he isn't doing the decisioning. |

Changing him and moving him would sort many peoples issue with the FIA and put reform in for the structure to be used at the races which also seems likely. I don't seem masi going but he will move out of the limelight going into the 2022 season. |

Yeah I saw this earlier was about to post it.
Compared to the other cars released so far it looks really dull, the rest of the field so far have upped their game. |

So this is an interesting touch if real. Now the front wing looks ugly as hell and is really low down, not sure about any other details. The side pods look really wide like the AMR22 but no major under cuts for air flow redirection. So I don't know what that is all about. Generally from what I know you go with a larger side pod design if you want to use that under cut design, otherwise you go wide at the front to build that down wash pressure effect than narrow the coke bottle region like mclaren. I'm no f1 aerodynamacist but I am not sure what ferrari is trying to do, so I look forward to hearing someone like kyle break it down.

Lol I could be wrong, we don't see any front images and the black blends in really well. But so far I only see a small under cut nothing major like the AMR or even alpha tauri. So idk what they're doing, as from what I know you only go super wide to get those under cuts to channel air where you want it to go. If you don't have the under cuts going super wide all the way past the coke bottle section just compromises the air flow to the rear of the car and diffuser. Like I see a small undercut but nothing major enough to justify these massive side pods. But again I am no aero dynamacist.
So either ferrari is doing something clever that we can't see yet, or they messed up bad and they're going to be stuck in the mid field again. #SF1000 v2

Alpha tauri break down video
We can see al the RB18 goodies on this (shared components atleast). I feel if all the other teams share their cars, redbull must still be struggling with their crash testing certifications, and that's why they haven't showed anything yet.

I think the best thing that they certainly don’t look like spec cars that some said they would. They all have quite different philosophy’s and it’s going to be interest to see who has got it right.
Ferrari certainly have an updated engine, let’s hope this time they have found any power advantage legally! It was certainly stronger at the end of last season and they apparently have made another step. Engines get locked in a few months so the teams might be trying a few things early on. As for the Ferrari design, they seem to be directing some of the air over the cover not under and they do appear to be a bit chunky. They are letting air out above the side pots not out of the rear so there is no energising the area above the rear diffuser that some appear to be doing quite strongly even adding extra elements into the flow out. Will have to see some rear shots and from above as it might look different in other shots. |

I believe its the F1-75 launch today so lets hope it's something that they can check the Merc 13 with.
An F1 friend has said if merc are lagging behind mid season then new regs could be brought in then to support them. It's happened before so I have no reason to doubt it seing how they have got away with their crash proof flex front wing performance (Saudi) and tilt wing rear. |
