The BEST have always been made in the morning, tossed in a backpack for a hike, then left on a rock in the sun for 5-10 minutes before consumption.

Milk doesn't work as well as with PBJ though.


I, too, have dinner leftovers. Some sort of thin chicken thingy, cover in some sort of breading, fried. Accompanied with noodles in some sort of pinkish cheesy sauce.

A close 2nd to properly transported and warmed up in the sun, is freshly toasted bread. The warmed up PBH is fantastic!

Love the cast iron! How do you clean yours? I used to do the whole salt with warm water and a brush etc..

I gave up on all of that, seasoned it 3 times, and now I wash it with soap and water and then oil it. Works great.

Mild soap and the Lodge brush, if it's really stuck on which doesn't happen often I let it soak and use a scotch pad. They are really well seasoned, my wife loves them.

Also can be referred to as furikake on rice, but without MSG.

Western translation: dried shaved skipjack tuna flakes on sticky rice with dried seaweed, sesame oil and tamari (soy) sauce.
