I sure did! It can be argued both ways. Some believe that to earn the title belt it takes more then landing a couple of "extra" punches. I believe that too and so did the judges.

Apparently Silva's management is considering move to WW. My guess is he's motivated to fight GSP.

As a fan I'm not too keen on WW, would rather see him move up to LHW or stay at MW.

I would only like to see Silva fight at WW if he fights GSP and if it's for the belt. If GSP is smart he will move up for a super-fight and fight at a catchweight with no belts on the line.

Have a feeling Silva wants the big name/money fights before he winds down his career.

If he gets the opportunity, he'll take Machida down and rain elbows and go for a sub but a KO from a punch, I highly doubt it
Yes you are right, Jones has not KO'ed anybody in the UFC.

I stand by my previous statement though - when Machida meets Jones in the octagon again, Jones will leave as the winner and Machida will probably lose consciousness at some point during the fight.

I read that too. Silva cutting to 170lbs!!! When was the last time he did that? 10 years ago ... the Chonan fight comes to mind. Weight cutting gets harder the older you get - if he actually cuts to 170lbs I would actually bet on GSP in that fight.

Can Silva actually cut that much weight? To me, he looks pretty lean (i.e. low body fat) as it is when he fights.

I'm sure Silva could cut that weight but it wouldn't be healthy for him at this stage of his career and age.

Catchweight would make the most sense for both GSP and Silva since both won't have the title on the line.

Zahabi has said

“Georges St-Pierre told me he wants (to fight Anderson Silva). But right now he has to get back on the horse and fight Carlos Condit and be champion again. He needs to keep focused.

“(If the Silva fight happens) ideally I’d like a catch weight. I think it’d be more fair. If you fight at a catch weight, Silva won’t be 20 pounds heavier. 177 or 178 pounds is much more fair.”

I think this is smart play by GSP, he knows at catchweight at least there will not be any titles on the line. I prefer a catchweight anyway. I would love to see this fight, 2 of the most dominant guys in the UFC for years. I can't see how anyone thinks Silva is ducking Weidman, Belcher, Bisping etc when he has suggested GSP the WW champ.

Assuming Silva would be able to safely and smoothly cut that much weight, it would be rather interesting to see how much faster he would be.

Cowboy indeed the man, wow, that was amazing. He got hella rocked, then still managed to get a vicious KO. Though it was mad cool of him to go for a RNC instead of trying to land another shot which would have been unnecessary. A fight w/ him and Pettis appears to be next, thats going to be insane. Melvin is still a good fighter but gets sloppy at times, so he might never get to the top at 155 but i dont think he should get cut

Benson for sure won the first fight, that one wasnt close, so you cant say Franky is still the champ, he lost fair and square.

This fight however was extremely close, def not a robbery. All judges agreed on the 1st (Benson), 2nd (Franky) and 5th (Franky). Two judges gave Benson the 3rd and 4th and the other judge gave both of those to Franky. I remember thinking Benson got the 3rd and was confused on who to give the 4th to. Franky could have edged him out but it was close, maybe the judges gave Benson the round since he's champ, like they've done in the past

I would like to see Edgar against the Korean Zombie at 145, winner gets Aldo next

Heck no escobar, the 145 weight class is so empty right now. Let KZ get his title shot then have Edgar win a fight and once he does that, throw him into the title contention.

Cowboy was soo luck that Melvin didn't continue to go all out. We could have seen a totally different outcome in the fight. Great work with staying composed and finding that opening for the head kick from Donald tho. Great shit. Hope they both grabbed a beer after the fight.

Still need to check the Shields/Herman and Benson/Edgar fight.

Looks like an epic card.

Also Jones and Sonnen are exchanging some words on Twitter. Would love to see Sonnen take some gnp and elbows from JJ.

He should. Bendo looks like he outweighs him by 15-20 lbs at fight time.

I thought Edgar won that fight but can see how it would go either way. He looked impressive, even in defeat. I think he'll be a force at 145 but unless Diaz beats Hendo, don't see Edgar getting another run at the title anytime soon.
