Lucky you! That's a good way to break up the middle of the week.

Although I did get to drive the BMW today now that the heat is fixed. One positive.
Was your heat not working? I'm worried mine is going. It's not very strong. I assume you're under warranty, but if not, what did it cost to fix it?

You too Tara ?
Didn't knew that the 11 November was also a holiday off-day in Canada ?
In Belgium is 11 November a national memory day from WW I from the memory day of the ceasefire day from WW I .

No heat/air. The blower motor went out. It had been making a whining noise and I think some moisture got to it. It had a lot of axial play when I took it out, it was able to bind up because of it. I'm just out of warranty, 86k.

Total cost ~$80 for a new motor from RockAuto and I changed it myself. Pretty easy process. Luckily my resistor pack was working perfectly so I just swapped it over from the old motor.

Oh good job! Hmm I'm tempted to fix it myself but I have a feeling your concept of easy may be difficult for me

Thanks! I'll bet you could handle it though, I've seen your side skirt video. Just 2 screws and a couple connectors.

If it's coming out weak, it might be that the resistor pack (FSR is the official name) isn't powering the motor correctly. Or as simple as the filter is clogged.

Usually a bad FSR will show up as certain fan speeds not working, ex: only full blast or only works on one speed.

A bad motor usually will whine/vibrate or not turn on at all.

I am the one who pumped Fallout 4 before the release, and I refuse to buy it.

I played the Fallout New Vegas on a PC (which it barely ran) for 1-2 day, and I got a nightmare.

I've noticed a sudden increase in how often I get flipped off when I'm driving the BMW.

Which is weird, because if anything I drive the same or more chill than in other cars and it never seemed to happen before. I feel like I'm being stereotyped.

Try driving an Audi next. You'll suddenly have this weird urge to tailgate people for no reason and randomly cut others off.

A friend of mine, really nice. He even volunteers at a local homeless shelter, he loves serving people. He gets behind the wheel of any vehicle, he turns into a real asshole.

It's not the car that makes us an asshole, it's the assholes in the cars surrounding us that turn us into assholes.

So what's different from BMW ownership then?

I swore I'd never own another VW, so hopefully I can skip that experience.

Seriously though, I think it's just confirmation bias.

Maybe that's a part of it too. You can get away with more in a responsive, capable car than other cars so you take more opportunities than you might otherwise.

I know how vindictive you can be, instead of just letting go,you got to teach the guy tailgating you a lesson, show him.

Yup, people think I ride my motorcycle like an asshole, when in reality, I'm just trying to avoid everyone else that takes 800 years to second guess a lane change or drive too slow in the fast lane.

I ride like an asshole out of necessity, not want.
