well my AD tells me, I am closer and closer lol... what that really means no one knows... for sure I won't be expecting a call for the Panda Daytona I asked for 6 years ago

I like that model but I had opted BLNR instead . I think green GMT arrow and green color script should have been replaced by red color GMT arrow as well as GMT script

I purchased pre-BLNR as an alternative to the Submariners that everyone was getting 😅
I like the green tbh, apparently it was for some anniversary (and Rolex’s “color” is green).

Honestly, I was thinking similar thoughts as well. I was like " what's the point of Submariner while you have more versatile watch for everyday use " but later the truth dawned on me that Submariner models have league of their own and became my favorite Rolex models since I bought .
However, GMT Master II design wise ,for present models, are my favorite because of thicker lugs unlike today's Submariner models

Guinness?

I, too, have an 116710LN. Not sure about calling this version of GMT II Guinness. How about the "Jack Sparrow" with reference to The Black Pearl.

I like that one!!

I think it was Guinness due to the black and green (irish? connection). Although, Guinness may be more fitting for the two-tone black and gold version.

That anniversary edition is amazing.

I had that on my wrist and past on it. Big mistake

I do not, none of these watches have serious complications. If it was a perpetual calendar, I'd think about a winder. From those who are a lot smarter than me, they say putting a chronograph (daytona) on a winder is a sure fire way to wear it down faster and expedite service.

One thing I've learned is, never pass up what an AD offers you if you can make a few bucks

It was back in the days for those with continuous winding and cheap units. Most of the better ones I saw these days have multiple winding functions and timer, i.e rotate a few mins then stop a few hours. So I dont see why it can wear down the watches faster than on our wrist.

Haven't got a chance to try one but will look into it soon.

Yes, I saw this a couple of days ago.

Time will tell what this will actually bring

- the end of ADs as we know them? Or at least the end of the AD games/sneak-selling to grey markets.

- Will Rolex sell direct-to-consumer from their factory/ies? Or will it be used pieces only?

- Maybe nothing will really change at all (at least for a while)

Second guessing my choice of DJ 41 mint green. Been waiting 3+ months for it. The dial is great but the remainder of the watch is a little plain.

Anybody have a DJ41 with gold? I may pursue one of those, unsure of which dial color. Debating among white, silver, or champagne dials.

Wish green dial were offered with yellow rolesor that would be a dime piece.

I used to own a DJ41 with grey dial roman numerals . Well, champagne is my favorite among the dials you mentioned

The DJ41 is a watch that has much more presence and wow factor in person than it does in photos. I have light blue dial with Roman numerals and I love it. Before I got it, I would have surely said meh if you asked me what I thought but once you have it on the rist it’s a real looker and very comfortable to wear.
