When I was in 20s, I had too much confidence that "I don't need to tap friends to get some" mentality. It is really not that hard to find a sex partner during 20s. (or 30s) imo. I think the quote on bold statement would probably worked well during my 30s, but I am out of the game for a long time. |

OMG it hurts to laugh with this frickin' cold, but I can't stop reading. Why am I doing this to myself? Oh well, time to stare out the window and look at this thunderstorm (gotta love SoCal's crazy weather), then pray that I'll get better by the time I go on a date this weekend. Peace outside!

Will do... Even though she hasn't been in America long, she loves American culture, fluent in English (especially after attending PSU, and since she knows what a foxtail is that seems legit ), likes cult films, has the same dark/sarcastic humor I do, and likes classic rock from Hendrix, Zeppelin, Dylan, AC/DC, Ramones to Nirvana (and she knows every reference I throw at her so it's not a bluff), and loves to cook (not just Asian stuff but American faire), and she's decently cute... Hold up, I think there's something wrong with my right knee, and why is Dramarama playing in the background?

I did before, it backfired horribly all the time...
* Send her to the grocery store for something more elaborate (salmon, carrots, broccoli and potatoes for my signature dish... It's usually a very specific cut of steak but I know she'd get confused): I program her GPS, she just gives up and goes to the gas station and we had those rubbery sandwiches that may be sitting on the shelf for months (not the good AM/PM station kind) for dinner... Even worse? I told her many times I was on a diet very similar to the Atkins and can't have bread. * I love movies, but I can't watch any with her because not only do I have to explain the plot, I have to translate (puns and double entendres were hell)... * There are certain words I don't know how to say in Mandarin, and it's very frustrating when you're trying to get an important point across and you get stuck on a word, or there's an idiom you've used millions of times in English that'll be perfect for the situation, but in Mandarin it sounds too formal, and there isn't really a comprehensive slang list for Chinese phrases (hell, even English but most of them would work, plus we got Urban Dictionary). I rough it and transliterate the word? 9/10 she doesn't get it. ...You get the idea. I just started getting sick of being the guy doing EVERYTHING, especially since I have the patience of a New Yorker (especially if I have ancestry with family from Poughkeepsie), so finding someone who spoke English and knows American culture was a MUST for me. Well, for starters, you're trying to do too much. Dial it back a handful of notches. Show as little interest as possible, have sex with her and then go about your way.
Use this system; Demonstrate value - Engage physically - Nurture dependence - Neglect emotionally - Inspire hope - Separate entirely |

I was talking about the navigation which she neither knew how to program nor (apparently) click "YES" when it asked to "CONTINUE TO ALBERTSONS?". With someone that has a good grasp of the English language, she can get her ass back to the kitchen where she belongs that much sooner with a damn good sammich , not that shitty gas station sandwich mass-produced at a factory and sitting on a shelf for God-knows-how-long with its soggy lettuce and stick-to-your-mouth bread. Come to think of it, I never even saw her make a PBJ, so good riddance

I think there's a conspiracy at work... So, they offer a free flu shot to all permanent employees (I'm still under probation), then the next week after LOTS of people (including myself) have been getting sick, and for me it gets worse day by day. Definitely not going in today, but I'm so used to getting up bright frickin' early and being productive that I can't bring myself to resting it out. FML
