![]() The pit boss is more of a collector's item. The oakley pit bull is 99% identical to the pit boss, only it costs $130 vs. $600 for the pit boss. Here's a nice video that shows the pit boss ($600) and the pit bull ($130) side-by-side - |

Wow those pit bosses cost that much? Yikes! I have a pair of OO polarized pit bulls. Nice nice lens, but the frame, eh not so much. I dug the monster dogs (the precursor model) more. Im still good to go with the good ole gas can and straight jacket, or even the hijinx

![]() I've straight up asked several staff members at a couple of Oakley stores in Texas whether the pit bosses were worth $600, and all of them resoundingly said "no." It really is just meant to be a collector's item for the hardcore Oakley fan. I'm all for high end sunglasses but I want to be paying for value. If the pit bosses were actually 5 times superior to the pit bulls I'd absolutely consider them. Thanks for your perspective on the frames for the pit bulls. I currently have a pair of monster dogs (which fit great), but if the pit bulls don't fit quite as well I'll be looking elsewhere for my next pair of sunglasses. |

Have you looked at the C Six? Those are truly for the hardcore Oakley collector/fan! They are very unique and especially how the all carbon (mostly) are machined. I've tried the aluminum version on but they didn't fit well, if they did I'd probably have a pair of them too. |

Maybe you can check out Maui Jim, costa, kaenon, and gatorz if you are looking at a change of pace. I bought 3 kaenons in one week, doh!

I looked into Oakley and while i appreciate their technology, none of their glasses really match with me. I ended up with a pair of Maui Jim Freight Trains and couldn't be happier. I also like Ray Ban but I gave MJ a try due to the better lenses they offer and excellent customer service.

I'm surprised so many people here wear Oakleys. I personally see them as strictly sport glasses. I have a few pairs that I wear when I'm biking. I have polarized and hydrophobic radars, flak jackets, half jackets, and a pair of gascans. The gascans are not worn anymore. For everyday glasses I have two pairs of Ray-ban wayfarer, 1 regular and 1 polarized and a pair of Ray-Ban "Cats" which are basically the aviator with a plastic tortoise shell frame instead of a thin metal frame.

You might want to check out their website. At this point they probably have more lifestyle/casual models then sport specific.
