Its probably worth noting the chart against the Euro is not very differant its just flatter/less volatile over the past year. You can see there has been significant volatility over the past 6 - 12 months, so maybe the prices are poised for a drop (doubt it as they are probably stickier on the up side )

there's some good taste in this thread
i've had a lot of fun putting together my growing collection over the last several years: -tank francaise, automatic - while this is more jewelry than timepiece, i love the classic look of the blued hands, cabochon, guilloched dial, and tank-inspired bracelet -sea dweller - love the clean look sans cyclops, 1220m rating and helium escape valve is just so badass to have on your wrist! -iwc spitfire chrono - just had to have a pilot's watch and this one has that quintissential look to me -jlc reverso gransport chronographe - not only my first jlc and reverso, but *retrograde movement* on the back dial, and in such a small package! -tissot t-touch expert - carbon-fiber look dial, touch-activated crystal that can tell you your altitude and ambient temperature! and weighing in at only 86g in titanium, just a cool everyday piece -vintage air king on nato strap - not really a rolex fanboy but just clean retro style -$99 hublot big-bang homage, (some swiss legend watch) - black/black/black and coming in at 46mm it's huge, silly, and fun! i've had my eye on the jlc extreme world chronograph for a while now, such a beautiful watch and my favorite watchmaker... don't understand the hate on this thread other than this should be in OT. if you appreciate things like V8's with 8400rpm redlines and high volumetric efficiency it shouldn't be a big leap to understand how some people might appreciate the engineering and precision that go into a fine timepiece. and they're actually far better investments than our toy cars, as explained above! the pleasure comes in knowing something so complex can be performed mechanically on something you can simply wear on your wrist. some people spend princely amounts on hifi audio, or a piano, showpiece rifles, the list goes on and on. as m3 owners, who are we to judge someone else for spending their money on something we feel is "frivolous?"

Weak Dollar, Strong Swiss Franc, CRAZY demand in Asia, comodities like Gold increaisng, these are all the factors to climbing watch prices.

Maybe you guys could help me out with your knowledge here.
Basically looking to get my first real watch. Always used my phone for time but want a watch for a good impression with older crowd or job interviews etc. I'm getting old myself at 25 My budget is about 1000, is that realistic? Any recommendations on what I should be looking at? Thanks |

Anyone know of a good place to sell watches? I have a UN Blue Surf that I'm looking to sell. I have never used ebay so I don't think there are many peope out there that will buy from someone with zero feedback on an item like that. Any ideas?
