99 honda accord sedan. Boring but rather it take the dings and hits from the work parking lot than the 1.

While I'm waiting for the arrival of my new 328i coupe, I'm trying to keep the mileage and potential for damage off of the 2013 MINI Cooper S I'll be trading in on it, so I've been driving my 1984 Austin Mini Mayfair more often than not. It's RHD with a 4 speed stick, imported from England 4 years ago. It is in relatively pristine condition and, knock on wood, has been remarkably reliable to drive. The only down side....the thing is an attention whore and I'm not. I love driving it, absolutely love it. You really can't get any purer or more basic, and it literally handles like a go kart, even if the seats are more like tiny recliners than body-holding racing seats. But good grief I swear someone is going to crash into the person in front of them because they're looking at or taking a picture of my car while they're driving. I can't stop for gas or groceries without questions or people posing by it for pictures. I suppose for someone who enjoys attention, this would be a cheap way to get it but I am not that person. Oh well, he's fun enough to drive I can deal with the gawkers.

I've never really liked the idea of driving something less fun as a daily unless we were talking about owning exotics. I have an 80 mile highway commute round trip 7 days a week and my M3 makes my day so much better. I guess even in terms of finances, the money saved on gas and maintenance if I had something cheaper to drive wouldn't really be a big difference granted the price of the other car. How long are some of your guys commutes that have dailys? Wouldn't your day be much more enjoyable getting to drive the M? You only live once and life is too short. Make the best of it IMO. I'd even rather have someone else driving and enjoying my car instead of it sitting in my garage. Whenever I go on trips/flights for a few days to a couple weeks, I'll always ask a good friend if they would like to enjoy the car while I'm gone. Have been the same way with my previous cars:NA '08 M3, 911 C4S Cab & Continental GT.
These cars are designed for pretty high milage and even the maintainance costs aren't too bad - nowhere near exotic level. I just think "why?" when I hear of guys driving 5k miles a year if that on these cars. To each their own I guess - I do get some puzzled looks for having a 600whp M3 as a daily...

1983 BMW 633CSI. Got it a year ago knowing it would cost a fortune if i had to fix anything, I've put 7000 miles on it and haven't had to spend a dime on repairs! Absolutely brilliant car for $7500!

Will be picking up my new-to-me daily this week: 2002 Saturn SL 5MT. My work has me driving increasingly large distances, and quite often, ending up in shitty parts of town that I don't feel comfortable leaving the 1'er unattended.
