Why not withhold judgement until at least a few more photos are released? I’m willing to bet at least a few of the detractors will be future owners.

Also, I’m looking forward to the design aesthetic of these fully electric cars more so than the i4-i7 which share a body with an ICE. The reasoning is so much interior space can be gained when theres no need for a transmission tunnel or fuel tank. The iX is a good example of this.

‘Some’ - let’s be honest, the G80 (front in particular) was near universally disliked. As was the iXM. As were many other recent designs. And don’t give throw me the ‘it’s growing on me’ comments. It shouldn’t have to ‘grow’ on people. It should wow people out of the gate.

To point to a car designer that excellels at car design, it’s very rare that Ferrari release any car that people immediately say ‘that’s ugly… but I’m sure it’ll grow on me’. Yet, they take risks and they innovate. It’s not about pining for past designs, it’s about having an eye for beauty and not making something butt ugly (I jest).

I’m not after an E46 2, I’m just after something that doesn’t have to ‘grow on me’.
