Currently waiting for all of the stuff below to be delivered. When I get the stuff in, I'll post my thoughts with some photos. Most stuff purchased from AliExpress, one item from eBay and one item from www.advantagebmwparts.com. They should all arrive sometime within the next two weeks or so.

Center Console Organizer Tray
Ebay
Attachment 3607722

64 GB USB C Flash Drive
AliExpress
This is a tiny one to replace my existing small, but bigger one that I currently have plugged into the car. I like how this one sits much lower than my other one, which also needs an adapter to plug into the USB C port.
Warning - I already received one of these from a third-party Wal-Mart seller, and it didn't work at all - it didn't even "snap" into the USB port on my computer or other devices. It would just fall out and have no connection at all. I'm hoping this one is better (meaning it actually works).
Attachment 3607723

Crystal Controls
AliExpress
This is a Christmas gift from my wife that I am buying early because of the price reduction during the black Friday sales.
Attachment 3607724

Crystal control and button protector film.
AliExpress
Attachment 3607725

Door storage inserts
AliExpress
There are two for the front doors, and two for the back doors.
Attachment 3607726

Door handle protector inserts
AliExpress
There are two for the front doors, and two for the back [...]
I resemble that remark.

AiredaleDad you see what we’ve done now? We’re clearly bad influencers. 😂

SkykingUSA Just curious but what are you going to use the low profile USB for exactly?

@SkykingUSA:

Re that flat tiny 64G USB: I had two of those, and both failed. There was no refund from Aliexpress (but same product was sold by Walmart and they took a return). Aliexpress seller wanted a VIDEO of it failing (wtf) and Aliexpress did nothing, so I was out of luck. But in addition I found it old style USB technology in the new tiny shell and painfully slow in copying music to it. When they failed, it was sudden death, unrecogniizable in car or computer and unrepaiirable with disk utility as it could not even be found. I ended up with a very small (but not as tiny) Samsung 128g for less than $20 on Amazon. I hope you have better luck with the tiny one.

I plan to use it for music files. I have a USB drive plugged in already with music on it, but want something even lower profile. Seems every time I wipe down there, I bang into the USB stick and I'm afraid of snapping it off one day. Just figured something lower profile would be less prone to breakage.

Thanks for the info. My first one was from Walmart too, and I was able to return it at the store yesterday! I figured I'd try another one, but if that doesn't work, then I'll probably keep my existing one or maybe try a different and more common brand when I find one smaller. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Interesting, regarding the Music. I just kind of assumed most people were streaming music via Apple Music or Spotify these days. I can’t remember the last time I downloaded music to physical media. It’s been years, though.

There is a thread somewhere in here about the USB music sounding of higher quality than the streaming, or music coming over Bluetooth connections. I'm not sure if that's true, or placebo effect or a little of both, but I can fit all my music on less than 64 GB so I figured I may as well play it safe just in case. Plus, I like to play what I want, when I want and don't want to spend time making online playlists for everything I have. It's just easier for me to sort it by folder, and favorites this way.

When I want to do some streaming (which is pretty rare), I usually just ask Alexa to play me something, or sometimes resort to the free first year of SiriusXM. Both work just fine in the car.

Does she have a website? My husband gets my bath bombs from a place called Bubbly Belle in Venice, Florida. But, I’m willing to change it up.

So, I was looking on AliExpress, specifically for G60 accessories, of course!

I've never ordered anything from them, and really it was the first time I've spent time browsing what they have to offer. I'm honestly shocked at the acres of fake carbon fiber trim pieces you can tape, glue, staple, or paperclip to your G60, should you so desire such a path.

Something else I saw that I'd not seen before as a newcomer to BMW. Some sort of "Grill Stripes" you can put on your car? I googled the topic and the internet is rife with discussions about who should use them, not use them, etc.

I didn't even know that was a thing? Sorry to report, I've seen not one other thing I want.

When I was looking through the stuff there I also wondered who would buy some of that stuff because it looks tacky to me. Perhaps there are more differences between parts of the world that we think, and other areas like more bling, even if to us it looks tacky or cheap.

Not really. She has one but it has not been developed yet. We just have the name and a blank page. Unfortunately due to regulations, she cannot ship to the US, because then she would have to charge tax, and use the Spanish Post, and you would have to pay customs fees. She is not really set up for that right now since she does not have a current US Business license. So for now, she is only allowed to sell to other people stationed here on the base in Spain.

Yeah, I have seen them before. The M Colors on 3 of the grill strakes. Some people here use the Spanish flag colors instead. Not going there.

I received my first parcel today containing the center console storage tray.
Here are my thoughts and pictures.
  • Airedale - you should be able to fit a cable from below if needed, as long as the connector can fit through the hole of course. See picture below of a cable through the hole - that cable has a USB C connector on it which fits through the hole.
  • Almanzor - Make sure you check underneath the large rubber mat in the tray (if you haven't already). When I took mine out of the box, it was also missing the two small rubber pieces. However, when I took the big rubber piece out, the two small ones were stuck to the bottom of the larger one! So, all three pieces were there, but the two small ones were not installed in the right place.
  • The overall quality is good. It's just plain hard plastic, but the rubber bottom pieces are like soft silicone which is nice to the touch, and sticky on the underside so it won't slip.
  • It fits into the compartment perfectly and snugly (no wiggling).
  • It appears to NOT sit on the 12 V cap like I originally thought because it fits in there the same whether I have the 12 V cap installed or not.
  • I'm happy with it and would recommend it. As long as you think you'll have enough room for everything, you should be good! I like keeping my most used stuff on top, and I think it's better than just having one deep "hole" for everything.

The second picture below shows what I keep in the bottom area under the tray: 2 Kleenex packs, my Bimmer Utility ETH adapter, folded up paper instructions for the BU ETH adapter.

The last two pictures show what I keep in the upper part of the tray: Starbucks reward card (normal credit card size), a Kleenex pack, reading glasses in a black cloth bag, sunglasses in a black cloth bag, the hard case contains folding reading glasses and is about the size of a lighter, and lastly a small folded microfiber cloth.

The console closes easily with all this and puts no pressure on the contents. I hope all this helps you folks get an idea of what this can hold and whether it would be right for you.
