Really looking forward to see this car dominate my '18 SS1LE at the track. I will want to stay as close as possible to hear that exhaust note for sure

That's just the non Z07 that's set to beat the C7 ZR1 time. The Z07 package is rumored to be in the 6:5x.

An almost 700hp screaming ferrari like V8 in a car you and I could afford. When if you were to look for something european that offered such things, you'd be paying 250k+ lol.

GM is running this shit now And this is just the beginning.

They didn't even release the ZR1 or ZORA

watched the jay leno vid. the car looks great from the front end while moving on the road. sides and rear i'm still not sold on. i was thinking of selling my f80 for a used lc500 soon, but with those cars in the 70s used and the z06 starting at 85-90k for a basic spec (which is all i'd need for it being a cruiser) ... i'm leaning z06 (better trans, better engine, lighter, prob rides just as well).

i'll still wait it out though. i never buy 1st model year stuff because of working out bugs/kinks and because of the high deprecation rate. but with how crazy the market has been with the chip shortage it may come back to bite me if these things go over msrp for years to come.

GT3 in base form is about $60k more than new Z06 with Z07 package.

Both are better cars overall and weigh 600-700lbs less.
you haven't even seen(in the flesh) a new ZO6 let alone driven one, LOL and you call others magazine / youtube video followers.

I’m kinda in the same mindset with my F80.
I love how it looks but want to get something that has a V8 and sounds great.
LC500 is on my list but needs to have Perf Pack with rear wheel steering. Not many of them on used market.
Z06 will be impossible to get close to MSRP for next 3yrs at least…..all the big dealers have huge waiting lists. I have a deposit down on it actually. My concern will be the crappy GM build quality. Also with Z07 package it will attract too much attention which is usually more negative than positive.

I have driven C7 Z06 plenty of times - the new one will be more capable but the inputs will continue to be less direct than that of Porsche GT cars. This is evident in the regular C8.
You can’t play with physics- C8 is a huge car compared to GT4 and it weighs significantly more, about 25%. The Porsche PDK is better and so are the PCCB brakes. The Z06 does have better motor but that’s it.

He's clearly a corvette hater. I highly doubt he drove a C7 z06 though lol. But it's fun watching the haters post here when those same guys are the ones who give me thumbs up when i'm in my corvettes lol. The same ones will the ones drooling when i'm rolling down the highway in the c8 z06 making ferrari noises as well lol.

The GT4 is an amazing car, but it's not on the level of corvette Z/ZR1.

GT3/RS, GT2RS yes definitely. Those are the big dog heavy hitters. The C8 variants, i believe, were learning from THOSE porsche GT cars.

Not a fucking 718 GT4 lmao

That front bumper is some JC Whitney trash. I'm sorry, I love the engine and the idea, but that just isn't a good design. The cut lines of the roof are horrid, the whole back half remains a mess, the new front bumper is awful, just overall a hot mess. Style wise, the C7 remains much better looking. Hopefully they get back to decent design with the C9.

Hate to say it but i agree, th elooks are a mess, it's a great car but it jus tlooks all wrong, was hoping the z06 would correct things and the transition to the back DOES look a lot better than the base c8, but, the front end now is....just too much.

That is WAY too busy IMO. Not as bad as the top-spec AMG GT-R, but still, way too busy, not clean. Regular C7 Z06 and GS are much better than the ZR-1 IMO.

The ZR1 in White or black is absolutely fantastic. The rest of the skittles colors can stay in the bag.

Well, you own a Camaro, doesn't the same thing happen to the ZL1 1LE once you start tacking on a wing, big splitter, rockers and canards? If you remove all those and the tire well vents from that c7 pic then it looks pretty clean....but all those things are there for a reason. Unless you're talking about something else?

Yeah, that wing is pretty outrageous and the ZL1 1LE is not a good DD car, despite a few people claiming "it's not bad!". No matter what kind of top spec car you are talking about, there are always die hards claiming it's "not bad to DD". You think the interior vis of the camaro is bad, you should see that ZR-1 and it's massive block in the middle of the hood. Seriously, go watch a few vids on the ZR-1 from inside while driving.

They had to open the front end like that to cool the car down.

That's how GM was able to have the ZR1 make 755hp @ 100F.

They didn't choose the perfect day to test their cars, they made sure they were going to put the car through hell, so that the owners who are buying them won't have any issue. A small hiccup in the GM engineering department when developing the C7Z. They choked the front end with a sealed bumper, not enough heat exchangers and a tiny ass radiator. The car would pull so much timing after 1 lap which could result in a 100hp loss. ANd dumbass owners kept driving the car thinking it'll fix itself until the car had to save it's own ass and put itself in limp mode.

The C8Z's front end is that aggressive because GM added the most heat exchangers they ever put on a corvette. I think the ZL1 is the next GM car to have that many heat exchangers. That's how you keep the car cool.

People think because it's NA, it won't run hot. Well if you're turning on average 6600rpm (as per the GM leading engineer), lap after lap after lap, it will run hot. But GM made sure this car is bulletproof.

The C8Z is an engineering masterpiece in terms of a production corvette can ever be.

The bespoke engine (for those that don't know what that means, it means the LT6 is an engine specially made for the C8Z, AND THAT'S IT).

It's not like the LT4 of the C7Z where it shared with the ZL1, or the CTS-V etc. The LT6 in the C8Z is an engine for that C8Z only.

This car is world class and i can't wait to own one!

Oh I know, but the new Z06 looks like a much more though out and functional package. Not that the ZR1 isn't functional, but it's having to do things like significantly obstruct the visibility to have a big enough supercharger to avoid heat soak, etc. The C8 Z06 looks much cleaner to me, vs. the ZR1 was trying to stretch out the C7 beyond the initial idea.

People don't know but the way the C7Z was made, was a second thought. It wasn't supposed to be a supercharged car.

The C8Z, or the idea of a flat plane crank NA V8 in a mid engine corvette, to call it a z06 was at the drawing board since fucking 2012. This was a LONG TIME coming. The car was very well thought out from the ground up. The C8Z is a REAL z06.

And i have a C7Z so i'm not being a fanboy. My car is incredible. Best car i ever owned but it's a flawed car. The C8Z is the real deal.

And that's why people who are just finding out about this C8Z and wanting to get one, have to get on a list and if they're lucky MAYBE you're getting a MY2025. Most people who started to get interest in this car since the reveal might be looking at a MY2026 unless they're willing to pay big bucks for a used one after the first year owners have fun with them and sell them.

I'm lucky to be getting a 1st year. I'll be revving the engine every god damn where lmao

It only runs a 10.6 lmfao....

Glads it's almost as fast as a M8GC with a Racechips which is 10.3- 10.4 all day long.... and the M8GC looks better.

M8 is AWD, shouldn't be compared. It beat the C7 buy .35 which is a pretty big improvement
