Your own picture you posted (post #133) proves otherwise...you must have at least a portion of the wheel on the white line. From the picture you posted you can clearly see HAM is within the limits.

Race summary through a Ferrari fans eyes. Red Bull and Max blew it BIG! RB should have pitted Max to cover scHAM. That would have won him the race. In the future only worry about scHAM since Bottas sucks and has bad luck. But since they left him out the turn 4 incident occurred. Max should have waited for the straight to pass. That would have won him the race. Speaking of turn 4 I begrudgingly side with scHAM. I was watching live and have seen all the pics. He never had all 4 tires across the white line. IMHO that was the standard they were enforcing throughout the race. Max had to give the spot back but did it in the wrong spot and lost. I also don't believe Max could have pulled out 5 seconds to cover a penalty (IF that would have been the penalty?)

That is 3 major screw ups. I'd either have my chief strategist head on a stake or hope he learned a valuable lesson. I don't know which! There you have it.

That and Ferrari suck AGAIN

Well glad I had some time to watch the full race as it was worth it. Nice to see Alonso back in there, new teams, and quite a driver mix up compared to 2020. Very good race with a fair conclusion, hopefully Max and RB can keep the pace up and make it a competitive season. Perez will definitely improve, he just had some bad luck today.

No real opinion on the pass controversy, with hindsight Max should have let the re-pass happen in a better spot but what can you do. I’m just glad to see it competitive outside of one team/two drivers.

Oh and HAAS? Follow my advice from the moment I heard you were entering F1....GET OUT. The destined to fail experiment is over.

The belief in the pits was that track limits at turn 4 would not be enforced during the race.
In the race Horner told Verstappen that Hamilton was exceeding track limits at turn four and Verstappen could do the same.
Hamilton was later told to stop exceeding track limits at 4 otherwise race control would give him a penalty...so he did.
I didn't hear Verstappen get the same warning...maybe he did.
Anyway fair shout by race control...overtaking by going off the track and gaining a lasting advantage is against the regulations.
Verstappen already got a time penalty for passing Kimi off track on the last lap at Austin a few years ago.

Indeed...the whole track limits issue is getting out of hand.
I'd be...during the race 3 warnings for exceeding track limits then a 5 sec penalty added.
Overtaking by exceeding track limits...give the place back and can't repass for 2 turns or take a 30 sec penalty.
Or something like that.

I'd also add if there was contact off the grey track or even partially then the person directly behind causing avoidable contact is penalised 60 seconds.

HAM's defence :

HAM was going "extremely wide" ,while MAX was overtaking on the outside .

In other words : HAM forced MAX going off-track and exceeding the track limits.

That was HAM's defence , and the only way to keep his P1 !

If you ask me : It wasn't the cleanest way...
