At least your dealer said something. Mine is just saying I don't know. You'd think they'd know more considering the sales advisor doesn't make a dime till we actually take delivery.

I’m not sure about this. My car is having the issue multiple times a week. I took it in and it was diagnosed as the issue. I reached out today and as of now they do not have any eta on the part at all. He said the one for the i5 is different. Maybe he is wrong and i kind of hope so, but he’s been my advisor for years now. He said my VIN number still has a red dot next to it, whatever that means.

It means the part is not available for your vehicle however since you are having the issue then the part should be able to be ordered for your vehicle and you don't have to wait until the normal recall availability.

There is no part availability at all right now for my car. BMW is stating they have no ETA. Kind of a problem because the issue is having much more frequently now.

yes. but I will take with a grain of salt. mine is a 2024 with premium package. Utah orange. build 7-2024
If no resolution by Oct then I will likey re-negotiate and build a new one. Got a good reasonable price and a good fair price on trade in. will wait very impatiently for now.

lets hope this is past us all soon.

Maybe they changed the priority and we have not seen since those with the issue were getting them first. Dealers have been receiving parts for the stop sale vehicles and were able to also get them for vehicles exhibiting the issue.

This brake issue is causing huge financial issues for BMW. Share prices have plunged, and they had to revise the profit margins downward. So...what that probably translates into is that in some manner, customers will be picking up some or all the costs in that there will be fewer incentives, perhaps price increases, etc. Shame all this happened, but the financial burden should be on the supplier who messed up.

I just collected my car from the dealership. Production date 8.27 - new cars seem to be fine!

I'm very sure about this; Actually, about as sure as I could possibly be.

If you are already driving and own your car, BMW isn't worried much about your car yet. They're prioritizing vehicles that are waiting to be picked up and signed for by their to-be owners.

Stopping into service or calling your service advisor will net you zero answers, as publicly owned vehicles seemingly aren't of much concern yet.

I agree. They need to get the dealer spec and custom build cars delivered and saleable as soon as possible. A car that is stuck in Stop-Sale is lost profits for them. Whereas a car already delivered and in the owner's possession is not a "Financial Concern". They will get to it as soon as they can, as it is a safety issue. But Unsold/Undelivered cars are their priority. Hopefully since mine is a new build it should already have the new part from the factory and not be part of the recall. (Fingers Crossed) since mine is not a lost profit to them, as my car has already been paid for directly to BMW AG and not payable to a dealer.

That's not the case in the UK. I was informed by the corporate fleet team at my dealer that BMW UK are prioritising the on the road cars before undelivered due to concerns about the safety of the cars.

I hope this is the case in the US as well. Interestingly I found that when it happened yesterday, I powered off the car and back and it went back to normal.

Which leads to me a more specific question. Does anyone here have an i5 that has the problem had the part replaced yet? I’m seeing all these reports of parts being available but nothing specific to the i5.

The priority had been vehicles with the issue and then those on recall. Supposedly with the stop sale it is vehicles with the issue, vehicles on stop sale and then vehicles on recall however it seems like there are vehicles with the issue that are not getting the part and parts are shipping for stop sale vehicles. Hopefully the ones with the issue will still take priority once the parts are flowing more freely.

Has your dealer mentioned a better deal since you have been so inconvenienced?
