The review from autogefel stated the 6 cylinder won’t be available in the EU
Is that correct? To be honest it doesn’t surprise me given the net zero momentum at the moment |

I also kept the X3 so I can haul the 50 lb dog and go on hiking trips where the roads to the trailheads aren't very well maintained as the i4 isn't ideal for either of those things. |

Not quite as bad as the new XM but the bar has been set low lately. I just don’t understand why they’re so keen on using cheap black plastic for the front bumper in most of their new designs.
IMO a lot of these EV’s and newer vehicles are going to all look so incredibly outdated in 4-5 years. Not to mention trying to keep those shiny black plastic bits on the grill from swirl marks, rock chips and fading from weather exposure. Agree w the other comments it looks like a 2 series GC front end but more grown up. Hopefully they give the M5 a better visual treatment. Until people start voting w their wallets tho, nothing is going to change and BMW will continue pumping out as much shit as they possibly can if ppl continue to purchase it

Compared to many of BMW's recent designs, this is the first where I wasn't initially offended by the looks and think this will grow on people a lot more easily and quickly. As with all BMWs, this just needs a proper stance and some CF parts and will look sharp in no time.

Looks great and most likely my next M or M-performance car! I am looking forward to buying the LCI in a few years.

I have to agree with you 100%! Anything that's considered and designated as a "BEV" should have a freak'n frunk!

I’m surprised everyone is saying it reminds them of the 2GC. To me, it looks like if an X1 and X5 had a sedan baby.
I like it, for some reason all BMWs look bad in still images, but in motion and on video it’s a very handsome car. The rear doesn’t say BMW to me though, headlights are a definite step back. The current 5er’s DRL are just so handsome and agressive. As with all BMWs, after your eyes adjust to the change people will say it’s a great looking car. Looking forward to the M5.

This doesn’t remind me of the 2 series at all either. I think the i5 M60 doesn’t look half bad! Wish they didn’t put so much M baring all over it but it looks decent. Interested to see what the M5 will look like now..

I guess BMW is trying to kill two birds with one stone - EV and regular 5er in one I hope this is just a stage till we get to full EV only, maybe in the next generation. If you get the i5, it's too tall and has weird hood space, etc. If you get the regular 5er, almost the same sacrifices again. An EV sedan should have the proportions of a Tesla Model S/Porsche Taycan...the end! If anyone shopping for an ICE mid-size luxury sedan, I think the next E-Class looks way more elegant and classy. If you are looking for the EV version, I think this is (i5) is better than EQE. Gotta grab a G30, the last of the true long-slung BMW chassis... |

The interior is the highlight of this vehicle. Exterior styling is bland and unimaginative for 2023 premium performance vehicle. The front grille on the 60 is a horror show, confused mess of sensors and radar, the side profile follows a trend from BMW of minimalism; look at the G87. Cars look product design not styled. The side and rear continues the sleep-fest. The only element well executed is the notched hood, the rest is straight out of the Toyota school of design. BMW vehicles are much less distinctive outside than years prior, and those that are, are in a bad way. The constant evolution of the front grilles, the need to simplify or remove styling elements ( my theory is for profit ) to the point cars look ordinary may be diluting the brand and confusing current and potential BMW customers. Just look at the vast differences between each series. Little to no resemblance between the styling language of an XM, an M2 or the I5, other than a need to take away, inside and out. It feels like BMW cars of late lack soul, I don’t mean in the way they drive, but in the way the make you feel on approach or departure. Bring back sexy, muscular, innovative yet understated cars. Just another bland copy-cat car using a whatever sticks design approach.

I had hopes for this. I really did.
The design direction overall is good. But can we stop it with the stick-on cladding? It looks like it drove through a tar puddle and got dirty. Or dark power is taking it over and by the time LCI rolls out, it will be up to the door mirrors! And why does it look like Cross-country / Allroad / Allterrain tall? The front dead-on looks like a modern Skoda. That's good, because I like Skodas. But this should be a BMW. |
