I love djing too.. Ive been practicing a lottt lately, I want to put some good house sets together and start hittin up some clubs.

My bro uses Reason, I think he learned from youtube vidz and just messing with it.

Traktor and a vci 100. I recommend you get yourself a nice pair of headphones. They improved my mixing a lot!! I just picked these up a month ago. They're a little expensive but easily the best purchase of the year.

Hows the sound quality out of Traktor? I've asked a lot of people and everyone is telling me to go with Serato. I want to buy some Pioneer CDJ800s or 1000s first, Im saving up for that, Im currently using some american audio CDI500s and a Q-D5 mixer.

Ahh man I can't play on any CD player other than a pioneer, you're a champ for using those. If i were you I'd get the cdj400s. They have a midi output and a lot better features than the 800 and 1000. I love everything about traktor bro. No problems with sound, especially if you get the Audio 8 drivers. I've used serato and it is too simple i think. You can do so much more with Traktor, especially with 4 decks and the effects and stuff. I'm saving up for this

I've been wondering if the CDJ-2000 is the right choice when one has Traktor. I mean there are cheaper ways to control Traktor so it would only make sense to use the CDJs with their own software to do the beatgrids/cues/loops and get rid of Traktor.

Oh man i would love to have the Xone 4d, but that shit is $$$, the CDJ1000z and a DJM800 mixer is all I want.

It would be stupid to get CDJ2000s to use with Traktor. They're $2500 a piece plus a DJM 800 mixer and your looking at well over $6000, not counting the laptop. If you wanna go the pro route get a Xone 4D, if you want the CDJ feel get yourself a pair of CDJ 400s. If I were to get the 2000s I wouldnt connect to traktor. It pretty much has most of the important features that traktor has.

Nah, the CDJ 400s don't really give one the CDJ feel. Once you're used to the 1000s, you won't use anything smaller.

I know but other than the large platter, there are really no features that the CDJ400 doesn't have. Trust me I wish I could get the 1000s but for the price they don't offer that much. Hopefully the prices will go down when the 2000s come out.
