Has anyone had any luck buying a datejust from an AD lately? Not sure how hard they are to get compared to a Daytona or Sub.

I had asked a grey dial stainless steel Oyster band and I was told that I had to wait minimum 10 months which sounded outrageous to me
Same thing for the two tone champagne dial oyster band and probably the blue dial models

we got ours in 2021, but I believe the timelines are still relevant surrounding the issues circumventing supply and demand. truth be told, it's been like this for several years according to my AD; the pandemic just made it worse.

Datejust 31mm in oystersteel
Datejust 41mm in oystersteel (Wimbledon)

Jan 14 - inquired (ordered, no deposit)
Apr 20 - received 31mm
Sep 17 - received 41mm

so the 10-month wait isn't out of the ordinary. wait times will differ between models, and even within the same model, certain configurations may take longer than others. my AD has a client who requested in Nov 2019 (forgot the model), and he just received it Nov 2021.

Daytona demand and availability is strange. I bought 2 stainless silver ones in Houston in 2015. One was available in stock, the other shipped in within a month. Have been on the list for the refreshed model for over 2 years.

Just received this Wimbledon dial DJ36 for my dad before Christmas
Had expressed interest in August or so

This is at Geary's, an AD in Los Angeles area
I have purchase history there that started in July of 2021
purchased 4 Rolex watches since then

In all my years in watches around the two biggest City's closest to me I have only ever seen one brand new black dial for sale in an AD window.

I just landed and had a text from my AD.

My wife's OP 31 w/ green face is available. We put her name on "The List" on Dec 20, and I honestly expected at least a year or more wait.

We have a Date Night tomorrow at our favorite local restaurant, so I'll chivvy her out of the house a bit earlier and not tell her of the detour to the AD.

Good timing as she's flying out to have a "Girl's Weekend" in Cali for her Mother's 75th birthday on Friday.

Now, let's hope an Air King doesn't show up immediately so my checking account can recover a bit!

Just got my Daytona back from servicing, $1350. First time in the 7 years that I owned it, and the watch was pretty much my daily driver and road warrior. Saw 26 countries in that time with me.
Looks so new I don't want to wear it.

Prices are just so ridiculous now.....

I bought my rose gold GMT in May 2020 for $32k. Everyone has them for $60k now.

I sold my two-tone rose gold GMT that same month for like $15,500......they are going for like $30k now.

Ugh, we all used to laugh 6-7 years ago and wonder when the bubble would pop....I wish I had bought a ton back then.
