There is no way HAM is going to quit because Masi screwed up.

On the one hand, losing the 2021 world driver championship must have hit home, mentally, way harder than a physical 51G crash into a tyre wall.

But on the other hand, the very vague suggestion that Hamilton might consider leaving F1 now (as well as the robotic Toto Wolff video a couple of days after the Abu Dhabi race), is IMHO merely marketing spinning for mainly two reasons:

• damage control - shifting the blame: to cover up the major strategy failure by Mercedes AMG during the Abu Dhabi 2021 F1 race; Mercedes AMG (including Toto Wolff) screwed up big time by not pitting Hamilton's car for soft tires during the safety car stage; it was a deliberate risk, way too hard focused on keeping/losing track position, despite Hamilton openly questioning the decision to stay out; possibly part of the explanation of the current radio silence by Hamilton is his feeling of being seriously let down by his team by that ill-advised strategy choice that compromised his chances to win the race; the counter-argument that Michael Masi would have certainly decided to end the race under a safety car once he would have known that Hamilton would have pitted and lost track position (the "it's rigged !" theory) is IMHO an unlikely conspiracy theory, which is also incompatible with the pre-race team talks to try to let the race end under a green flag and the fact that the race effectively ended under a green flag;
• speculating on an outpour of "please don't quit !" reactions triggering subsequently an "I was definitely determined to quit, but the overwhelming response pulled me back in" egotism narrative; IMHO a departure is by no means even considered; just creating some drama.

Right ! But I really hope that MAX can get in 2022 a Rocket Engine as well !

Let's remind HAM's incredible Rocket pace , HAM took very quickly the pace advantage in Brazil .

And so it will be in the beginning of the 2022 season as well , hopefully during the winterbreak HONDA & RedBull Powertrains can close the (power) gap ..

In an interview earlier this week Verstappen explained that he was deeply appalled by Hamilton's abundantly celebrating the Silverstone victory despite the highly controversial first lap and penalty.

Seems to have been part of Verstappen's motivation to overtake Hamilton in the final lap of the season (and he took Hamilton, his team and even his father by surprise to make the move already in Turn 5): payback time and the final strike.

After the race I got one special phone call from a Japanese colleague engineer in Japan .
This year he worked 4 months with me in the company .

During the first minute , I heard only overwhelming screaming coming from Japan ..
But it was awesome anyway !
