They were hatched this Spring, so YEAH!!! They get a higher protein diet while growing, then the last 3-4 weeks I switch to exclusive corn. When we plucked the feathers you could SEE the marbling last year

They have like 30 of those suckers!!! The year before last, they did not keep the feathers cut back and some of them would 'free range' into other yards I made the mistake of throwing out extra grain for the Donkey....the next morning, I had about a dozen of these damn birds on the deck - pecking at the door and window!! Woke me up it was so loud. I'm in shorts and sweatshirt, with snow boots in the pouring rain trying to herd these birds back to their yard and off my deck. My dogs actually killed one in the process...
